Tickets Are Now On Sale for Staged Reading of Dmae Roberts' THE COURTESAN

The Courtesan is a drama with comedic movement. The play will be a vigorous staged reading with dance, music, Taiko and projections of the artwork that inspired each of the nine scenes I've written. It's an experiment to see if indeed artwork can come alive and change people's lives.
There are two stories: One story is about a young artist, a character based on Van Gogh's letters as his paintings come to life. The other is set in modern-day China at the site of a chemical blast that left a city deserted. Two scientists who volunteered to chart the reclamation of the abandoned city discover beautiful artwork in an abandoned mansion.When time intertwines Japanese art, Impressionism, environmental science, and three cultures...
