Gallery Theater holds auditions for Rodgers & Hammerstein's Carousel Saturday, February 13, 5:30-6:30 p.m. Dance auditions- Delkin Hall in Vivian Bull Music Center, Linfield College

Monday, February 15, 6-9:00 p.m.-Gallery Theater, Tuesday, February 16, 6-9:00 p.m.-Gallery Theater

Cast Needed: 13 women, 17 men, 8 children (4 snow children + their play-party friends) + ensemble + core group of male and female dancers.

· Group of eight experienced dancers are needed for core dance group.

· Also needed is a young girl/dancer to play Louise, Julie and Billy's daughter, who dances a solo ballet and appears for two brief dramatic scenes at the end.

· Need for opening carousel scene is a juggler, a unicyclist and acrobats.

Lead Singing Roles

Julie Jordan-(soprano) Lyric voice. Range: d flat to high g flat. Begins as a 20- year old and ends as a 35- year old. Marries Bigelow, the carousel barker.

Carrie Pipperidge (soprano) Lyric voice with perky personality. Range: d to high g. Best friend to Julie. Marries Enoch Snow and has 5 children.

Nettie Fowler (mezzo-soprano). Julie's aunt. Mature woman and mature voice. 45-50 year old. Range: c to high g. Sings "You'll Never Walk Alone" and "June is Bustin' Out All Over."

Billy Bigelow (high baritone) Lyric voice. Range: low B to high g. Young man, 25-30 year old. Marries Julie.

Enoch Snow (tenor) Lyric voice. Range: low B to high A. Straight-shooter fisherman. Marries Carrie and has five children.

Jiffer Craigin (baritone) Range: c to d. No-good friend of Billy's. Very physical character.

Music rehearsal begins the week of February 22, 2010.

If cast you will be required to pay a $25 refundable deposit for rented script/music rehearsal material.

Eight Performances: April 23, 24, 25, 30, May 1, 2, 7 & 8 ~ 2010.

Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 p.m., Sunday performances at 3:00 p.m.
