Now, educator-created artworks inspired by those protests have been collected as #RedForEd: The Journey Toward Equity, a new exhibition by Scottsdale Arts Education & Outreach that will run from Sept. 15 – Nov. 17 in the ArtReach gallery at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts.

The Herberger Theater Center (HTC) will host a community blood drive on September 10, 2018, 10am-2pm, inside the Center Stage Lobby as part of a promotional campaign for Sweeney Todd, the upcoming co-production with Arizona Broadway Theatre (ABT). Blood donors will be provided with a voucher for one free ticket to Sweeney Todd, An American in Paris, or The Addams Family. Donors should enter through the HTC Box Office located at 222 East Monroe Street in Phoenix. Tony Edgerton, the lead of Sweeney Todd, will be making an appearance in costume during the blood drive.

The line-up for the 5th annual Tucson Jazz Festival, scheduled for Jan. 11-21, 2019, continues to take shape with the announcement of Poncho Sanchez headlining the free Downtown Jazz Fiesta on Monday, Jan. 21, 2019 (MLK Day). Last year the Jazz Fiesta drew more than 12,000 people downtown. Funding for the concert is provided, in part, by the Arizona Commission on the Arts and Rio Nuevo.
