Governor Proclaims April Official Jazz Appreciation Month As part of Jazz Appreciation Month, Governor Doug Ducey has issued an official proclamation declaring April 2018 as Jazz Appreciation Month and April 30, 2018 as International Jazz Appreciation Day. Representing Governor Doug Ducey to present the Proclamation was Barry Wong, Director of the Governor's Office of Equal Opportunity. Mr. Wong read the proclamation to audiences at The Nash on March 29 at the Lewis Nash Pro Jam, with Lewis Nash and Doc Jones in attendance. The Proclamation will be on display at The Nash throughout the month.

The Nash has planned a huge calendar of events for April, encouraging everyone to come to a concert during this special time. Highlights include a FREE all day jazz showcase on April 8, Nick Finzer and Lucas Pino on April 27 and Peter & Will Andersen on April 28. The popular JazzMeetsPoetry concerts will be holding two shows on April 26, featuring the poetry of Gil Scott-Heron.

The Nash is located at 110 E. Roosevelt St on Roosevelt Row in downtown Phoenix.

The Phoenix Community College Jazz Orchestra appears in concert with special guest, trumpeter Wayne Bergeron. Wayne Bergeron is enjoying a career as one of the most sought-after musicians in the world.
