Topdog/Underdog at Arden Theatre Company

Written by Suzan-Lori Parks, who made history in 2002 as the first Black woman to receive the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, this Pulitzer Prize-winning play tells the story of two Black brothers, Lincoln and Booth, as they navigate a complicated relationship shaped by love, rivalry, resentment, and survival. Sharing a single room, the brothers struggle with the hands they've been dealt in life, as the street con game of three-card monte becomes a metaphor for power, opportunity, and the cost of getting ahead. The production is directed by three-time Barrymore Award-winning director Amina Robinson and stars actors Akeem Davis and George McGriff. Co-produced with People's Light, the production recently completed its run in Malvern and now moves to Philadelphia.
