Students from Millbrook Playhouse's Teen Performing Arts Academy summer program perform this family-friendly musical comedy based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks film, in which Shrek, an ogre whose swamp is overrun by banished fairytale misfits, strikes a deal with Lord Farquaad to rescue Princess Fiona from a dragon-guarded tower. The production features a cast of local youth performers including Zoe McElroy as Shrek, Sierra Kolk as Fiona, Madilyn Reese as Donkey, and Annalise Brungart as Dragon, among others. The show is directed and music-directed by Whitney Madill, with assistant direction by Elaina Packer and choreography by Ceci Salome.
