Newtown Arts Company is excited to CUT-LOOSE this summer with their production of Footloose! When Ren (Zack Osborne of Willow Grove) and his mother Ethel (Megan Gramlich of Lawrenceville) move to a small town, he wasn’t prepared for the town to have a ban on dancing. Reverend Shaw (Joseph Cutalo of Titusville), is determined to exercise control over the town’s youth with the ban, much to his wife Vi’s dismay (Susan Fowler of Levittown). When the reverend’s rebellious daughter Ariel (Kaleigh Coyle of Lawrence Township) sets her sights on Ren, her boyfriend Chuck (Daniel Lobron of Newtown) tries to sabotage Ren’s reputation in the town. Meanwhile Ren finds friendship in Willard (Liam McKernan of Newtown), who is also juggling his feelings for Rusty (Lydia O’Halloran of Willow Grove), while Wendy Jo (Maggie Hewish of Langhorne) and Urleen (Jackie Sterlace of Richboro) cheer on their pals as they are ‘Holding out for a Hero’ of their own. The other adults of Bomont, (Timothy Costello, Lori Gallagher, Robert Reiser, Lindsay Clarke, and Michael Shepherd) must decide if they will stick to tradition or let the future be filled with dancing for the teens of Bomont (Ryan Walsh, Liam Sullivan, William Donahue, JT Frankenbach, Kane Sienicki, Gerry Hehir, Benjamin Zambelli, Nadia D’Agostino, Kira Smith, and Annabelle Hediger). Newtown Arts Company’s production is directed by Morgaine Ford-Workman, music directed by Susan den Outer, produced by Diana Bilyk, assistant directed by Wren Workman, choreographed by Morgaine Ford-Workman and Alyssa Wiltbank, and costumed by Michelle Hediger.
