Hunt for History Club Returns for 2nd Year

By: Jan. 04, 2012

Get ready to kick off a new year with Hunt for History! Historic Bethlehem Partnership is excited to welcome new club members and returning historic experts to the club that's all about history and fun!

In 2012, kids will learn exciting Blacksmith techniques in April at "See Sparks Fly," create their own artwork during May's "Painting with Gus," and sample juicy blueberries at "Blueberries at Burnside" in July.

2012 events begin with "Tick, Tock…Look at Our Clocks" on Saturday, Jan. 7. Participants will examine beautiful antique clocks, learn about the history of timekeeping, and create time devices to take home.

On February 4, kids can go "On the Prowl for Animals." Animals have served as artistic inspiration throughout history, and now Hunt for History will search for animals in the artwork at a local museum. Play fun animal games and create a growling craft. Be a part of this animal expedition – and all Hunt for History events! The new year is a great time to join the club and participate in hands-on demonstrations, crafts, and games. First time club members receive the official club card, and each time they visit, they'll earn stickers to becoming a Club Researcher, Investigator, or Historian.

Hunt for History event runs from 12pm to 4pm and are free for children with paid adult museum admission. January and February's events will be held at the Moravian Museum of Bethlehem at 66 W. Church Street.
