HAIRSPRAY, Broadway's Tony Award-winning musical comedy phenomenon, is being presented at Chicago's CIBC Theatre through February 13, and Chicago native Brandon Stalling, who plays Seaweed in the musical, just stopped by ABC7 to chat about his role!

Helmed by original director Jack O'Brien and original choreographer Jerry Mitchell, the new non-Equity national tour of  HAIRSPRAY is visiting more than 60 cities in its first touring season and is expected to play for multiple seasons.

GRAMMY-nominated group Trivium have teamed with the legendary Portuguese artist Toy to release a reimagined version of his song 'Coração Não Tem Idade (Vou Beijar).' Available now on all streaming platforms, the recording finds Trivium and Toy joining forces to deliver a heavy a take on the classic track sung entirely in Portuguese.

Los Angeles singer/songwriter Lily Kershaw shares a new track, “Always & Forever,” from her upcoming sophomore album Arcadia, out November 15th.  On “Always and Forever,” Lily uses the metaphor of a bad relationship to explore her reservations around the concept of time and infinity. While she's primarily known as a folk-pop artist, Lily consistently pushes the limitations of that label. Originally written as a guitar-based tune with her good friend, actress Emma Roberts, Lily instinctively decided to add synth, creating an 80s sonic texture without succumbing to any of the tropes found in today's new wave nostalgia.

Following the release earlier this year of their critically acclaimed album Where The Action Is, The Waterboys release the Out Of All This Blue EP via Cooking Vinyl.

Devendra Banhart's new album, Ma, will be released on Nonesuch on September 13, 2019. It is already being lauded as his most personal-and moving-album to date. Following the release of tracks 'Kantori Ongaku' ('Country Music'), 'Abre Los Manos' ('Open Your Hands'), and 'Memorial' comes 'Taking a Page,' released today. 

Devendra Banhart releases the third song from his forthcoming album Ma, 'Memorial,' today. The album will be released on September 13 on Nonesuch Records. A tribute to loved ones who have gone too soon, 'Memorial' explores the process of mourning. The intimacy of the recording, the sadness in Banhart's quivering vocals, and the beautiful melancholy of the lyrics showcase an artist attempting to understand death.

Bay Area Musicals' production of HAIRSPRAY runs from July 6 - August 11, 2019 and will perform at San Francisco's Victoria Theatre (2961 16th St, San Francisco, CA 94103). The Oregon Shakespeare Festival opened Rodgers and Hammerstein's Oklahoma!, directed by OSF Artistic Director Bill Rauch, on April 22 in the Angus Bowmer Theatre. Preview performances were April 18, 20 and 21, and the musical runs through Oct. 27.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey's 2018 season opening production, Tartuffe, will extend its run after much critical and audience acclaim. The French masterpiece directed by Artistic Director Bonnie J. Monte began performances on May 16 and will now play until June 10. A 'superb production that will whet your appetite for more,' as declared by NJ Arts Maven, Tartuffe's final performance will now be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 10.
