Based on the hit Paramount Pictures' television series, HAPPY DAYS - A New Musical reintroduces one of America's best-loved families, the Cunninghams, and the days of 1959 Milwaukee. This time capsule is complete with familiar friends: Richie, Potsie, Ralph Malph, Joanie and Chachi, Pinky Tuscadero and of course, the king of cool: Arthur 'The Fonz' Fonzarelli. Arnold's, the famed drive-in malt shop, is in danger of demolition, so the gang teams up to save it with a dance contest and TV-worthy wrestling match. The McCoy Rigby Conservatory of the Arts (MRCA) will launch the nation?s only ?Summer Stock? for talented young musical theatre performers, selected by audition from Southern California and throughout the United States, to be held in Orange County, California from July 13 through August 15, 2009. Sixty exceptionally talented young singers and dancers with aspirations for careers on Broadway and in the entertainment industry, ages 14-21, will participate in this intensive five week repertory program consisting of master classes, workshops and rehearsals and culminating in the performance of three fully-staged musical theatre productions.
