North Carolina Theatre, the region’s premiere nonprofit professional regional theatre, has announced their 2022-23 season sponsored by Blue Cross and Blue Shield on stage at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Raleigh!

This episode of Broadway Rewind is a look at Disney's Mary Poppins and a behind the scenes look at director John Doyle's production of the Stephen Sondheim and George Furth musical Company, which welcomed back to Broadway Raul Esparza as Bobby. Raul told BroadwayWorld's Richard Ridge, 'The show is a groundbreaking piece of musical theatre, that is a masterpiece. I've seen many, many productions of it, and I've enjoyed them all, but I never knew, that it was this good and I feel like it was just written.'

Julia Elizabeth Wells was born on October 1, 1935, in England. Her mother, Barbara Ward (Morris), and stepfather, both vaudeville performers, discovered her four-octave singing voice and immediately started her singing career, performing in music halls throughout her childhood and teens. At age 20, her stage career began in a London Palladium production of Cinderella.

It's Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious as the popular family musical 'MARY POPPINS' flies onto the stage at Theatre in the Park (TTIP) Friday July 29 through Sunday, July 31, and continuing into the following week on Wednesday, Aug. 3 through Saturday, Aug. 6. Curtain time is 8:30 p.m. with the outdoor amphitheater opening for seating at 6:30 p.m. 'MARY POPPINS' is rated G and is the final musical production in TTIP's 47th summer season. Today in 2006, Mary Poppins opened at the New Amsterdam Theatre, where it ran for 2619 performances. Mary Poppins is a Walt Disney Theatrical musical based on the similarly titled series of children's books by P. L. Travers and the 1964 Disney film. The West End production opened in December 2004 and received two Olivier Awards, one for Best Actress in a Musical and the other for Best Theatre Choreography. It received seven Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical, winning for Best Scenic Design.
