Bertie Carvel has won the 2019 Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Play for Ink.

Rob Howell has won the 2019 Tony Award for Best Scenic Design of a Play and Best Costume Design of a Play for THE FERRYMAN. 

Glenda Jackson made a triumphant return to Broadway last year after a 30-year absence, winning every possible award for her performance in the smash hit revival of Edward Albee's Three Tall Women, including the Tony Award, Drama Desk Award, Drama League Award and Outer Critics Circle Award. The Public Theater will begin previews for the North American premiere of GIRL FROM THE NORTH COUNTRY on Tuesday, September 11 with a Free First Preview performance. This new musical was initially extended through Sunday, November 18, and has been extended an additional three weeks through Sunday, December 9

On this day in 2016, the musical adaptation of the hit Bill Murray film, Groundhog Day, made its world premiere at the Old Vic in London.

Michael Rosen's Chocolate Cake opens the new Spring/Summer season at Polka Theatre. The production opens with previews from 23 March and runs until 13 May. It has been adapted by the theatre's Artistic Director, Peter Glanville and Barb Jungr.
