John Prine's new acoustic video for his song “Paradise,” featuring special guest Kelsey Waldon, premiered yesterday at Sounds Like Nashville. The song was recorded as part of the pair's new collaborative 7-inch vinyl, The Kentucky Sessions, which is included with each purchase of Waldon's new album White Noise/White Lines—out October 4 via Prine's independent label Oh Boy Records.
John Prine won two awards at last night's Americana Music Association Honors & Awards: Album of the Year (The Tree of Forgiveness) and Song of the Year (“Summer's End” written by Prine and Pat McLaughlin). The reigning 2017 and 2018 Americana Artist of the Year, Prine also performed “Angel From Montgomery” with Bonnie Raitt during last night's ceremony.
Singer/songwriter Josh Ritter and indie-folk duo The Milk Carton Kids have teamed up for an Amazon Original reimagined version of Ritter's song “Losing Battles.” Originally released on Ritter's latest album Fever Breaks, “Losing Battles” is available now only on Amazon Music. The accompanying video was also released today which debuted on American Songwriter. The track is available to stream and purchase.
