This afternoon, Broadway veteran Joel Hatch has played his final show with the company of the hit musical, Come From Away. A member of the original cast, Joel Hatch has been with the show since it opened on Broadway just over five years ago on March 12th, 2017. He portrayed 'Claude & others' other characters throughout the production. Gene Weygandt will begin performances in the roles on Tuesday, March 22. Gene joins the company directly from the Australia cast of Come From Away.

Broadway’s Tony & Olivier Award-winning musical Come From Away resumed performances last night at Broadway’s Schoenfeld Theatre. Original Cast Member Joel Hatch, who plays Mayor Claude Elliott in the musical based on a remarkable true story, made a brief curtain speech at the end of the show thanking the audiences for supporting Broadway.

It was the start of a new moment last last the the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre, as the Tony and Olivier Award-winning musical Come From Away officially returned to Broadway.

COME FROM AWAY, which was recently nominated for 14 Helen Hayes Awards in Washington, DC, began performances at Broadway's Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre Saturday, February 18, 2017, and officially opens Sunday, March 12, 2017. The entire cast and orchestra of Come From Away gathered in Studio Q at CBC Radio this week to perform the opening number of their show, 'Welcome to the Rock'.

In a heartbeat, 38 planes and 6,579 passengers were forced to land in Gander, Newfoundland, doubling the population of one small town on The Edge of the world. On September 11, 2001 the world stopped. On September 12, their stories moved us all. The new musical Come From Away will begin performances on Broadway on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre and officially open Sunday, March 12, 2017.
