Earlier this week, The Actors Fund in association with Universal Theatrical Group and Margaret Styne presented a one-night only concert of the holiday classic Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol. The evening was directed by Carl Andress with choreography by Nathan Peck, based on original choreography by Marcos Santana. Grammy Award® and Emmy Award®-winner John McDaniel wrote new orchestrations for the score and served at the evening's music director, conducting a 28 piece on stage orchestra.

Theater for the New City (Crystal Field, Executive Artistic Director), in association with MBL Productions (Mary J. Davis, Producer), will present the New York premiere of the new play, Still at Risk by Tim Pinckney (Message to Michael) at the Community Space Theater at Theater for the New City (155 First Avenue, between 9th & 10th Streets). Directed by Carl Andress (The Divine Sister; Die, Mommie, Die!), the five-member cast will feature Robert Gomes (Dada Woof Papa Hot, The Tempermentals) as Kevin, Christopher J. Hanke (How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Buyer & Cellar) as Christopher, Amy Hohn (November, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof) as Susan, Ryan Spahn (Daniel's Husband, Summer and Smoke) as Byron, and Jonathan Walker (The Assembled Parties, The Divine Sister) as Marcus.

Olivier Award winner Lesli Margherita plays 'Cindy Lou Who' in the world premiere of Matthew Lombardo's new comedy with a twist of rhyme, WHO'S HOLIDAY! directed by Carl Andress opening tomorrow, November 28. Broadway's Julie Halston hosted the Third Annual Broadway Belts for PFF!to benefit the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (PFF) Monday night, February 25 at Birdland Jazz Club (315 West 44th Street) as part of Broadway at Birdland series. All proceeds will benefit The Michael Kuchwara Fund for Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis Research, Education, and Advocacy. Theater for the New City will present Charles Busch's new comedy JUDITH OF BETHULIA. The play, starring Busch, and directed by Carl Andress (The Divine Sister; Die, Mommie, Die!) will play a limited engagement of 24 performances from Friday, March 30 through Saturday, April 28 at Theater for the New City's Cino Theater (155 First Avenue).

With honors ranging from the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame to the Tony Awards, Broadway's best performers gathered last night, February 27, to raise awareness of the rare disease, pulmonary fibrosis, and honor the memory of Associated Press theater critic, Michael Kuchwara (today would have been Kuchwara's 65th Birthday). Hosted by award-winning actress and devoted Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (PFF) advocate Julie Halston, Broadway Belts for PFF! returned to Birdland in New York City for a second successful year. The event raised almost $50,000 to benefit the Foundation.
