Miami New Drama is proud to announce the much-anticipated premiere of Confessions of a Cocaine Cowboy, a new play based on the cult classic documentary Cocaine Cowboys, directed by Billy Corben and produced by Alfred Spellman and Corben through their Miami-based studio, rakontur.

Actor, producer, director Yancey Arias had his first experience in entertainment at the age of twelve when his grandmother threw him on stage to sing a song for a  neighborhood talent show at Henry Street Settlement in downtown Manhattan. Yancey was discovered by Professor James Green at Saint John's Prep High School in Astoria, Queens, New York. Green then introduced Yancey to Stage Door Manor in Loch Sheldrake, New York, where he studied theater under Jack Romano every summer, and in winter with fellow actors Vincent Laresca, Christian J. Meoli, and Josh Charles.

That is the simple magical premise of THE UNTRANSLATABLE SECRETS OF NIKKI CORONA, a new play written by Obie Award-winning playwright Jose Rivera, premiering at the Geffen Playhouse through October 7.

The Untranslatable Secrets of Nikki Corona is a poignant journey through love, hope and the unknown. How many of us have wished for one more chance to say the right thing? A Better Orpheus Inc. provides an alternative to regret-a service that allows the living to communicate with the dead.

Geffen Playhouse today announced the full cast for its production of Academy Award-nominated and Obie Award-winning Jose Rivera's (Motorcycle Diaries, References to Salvador Dali Make Me Hot) The Untranslatable Secrets of Nikki Corona, directed by Obie Award- and Drama Desk Award-winning Jo Bonney (By the Way, Meet Vera Stark; Cost of Living). This world premiere marks the launch of Artistic Director Matt Shakman's inaugural season for Geffen Playhouse.

Josefina L pez, the award-winning playwright and screenwriter and Founding Artistic Director of CASA 0101 Theater, will host Question and Answer Sessions after the Sunday, November 5 and 12, 2017 performances of her new critically acclaimed World Premiere play, AN ENEMY OF THE PUEBLO, a modern adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's An Enemy of the People.

Josefina L pez, the award-winning playwright and screenwriter and Founding Artistic Director of the venerable CASA 0101 Theater located in Boyle Heights, CA will be celebrating a triple crown of signature events this month.

Inspired by the real-life experiences of ex-gang member Alex Sanchez, Culture Clash's Ric Salinas stars in the story of a Salvadoran immigrant who tries to reclaim his family while letting go of his gangbanger past. PLACAS: The Most Dangerous Tattoo by 2015 Doris Duke Artist Award-winner and celebrated spoken word artist Paul S. STRAIGHT WHITE MEN written and directed by Young Jean Lee, opened last Sunday, November 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the Center Theatre Group/Kirk Douglas Theatre. The West Coast premiere of the production, presented in collaboration with Center for the Art of Performance at UCLA, will run through December 20, 2015.
