The Lewis Center for the Arts' Program in Theater at Princeton University will present A Past Becomes a Heritage: The Negro Units of the Federal Theatre Project, an evening of play readings and a panel discussion in collaboration with New York City-based collective CLASSIX, on March 30 at 7:30 p.m.

Soul Rep Theatre Company's a?oeluckya?? 13th season of plays a?" SOUL TO KEEP - continues with the regional premiere of Colman Domingo's DOT, a serio-comedy about a family facing Alzheimer's. The production, directed by company co-founder, Anyika McMillan-Herod, and starring a dynamic ensemble of actors that include Catherine Whiteman, Renee Miche'al, Yusef Miller, Brandy Kae, Jaquai Wade, Satchel Victory, and Sergio Garcia, will run December 5 a?" 22 at the South Dallas Cultural Center, located at 3400 S. Fitzhugh Avenue, adjacent to Fair Park. The production is funded in part by a generous ArtsActivate 2020 grant from the City of Dallas Office of Arts and Culture.

HERE and Smoke & Mirrors Collaborative presents the world premiere of The Black History Museum. According to the United States of America, a darkly comedic, immersive performance that transforms HERE's entire building into a theatrical museum.

The Billie Holiday Theatre at RestorationART, in association with Kenny Leon's True Colors Theatre Company, is presenting Colman Domingo's Dot under the direction of Tony Award-winning director Kenny Leon (American Son currently on Broadway starring Kerry Washington, A Raisin in the Sun and August Wilson's Fences) and starring Emmy Award-winning Billie Holiday Theatre alumna Denise Burse ('Black Mirror,' Tyler Perry's 'House of Payne') as Dotty. The production began previews on October 20th, opened on October 25th and will run through November 18th at The Billie Holiday Theatre, 1368 Fulton Street, Brooklyn, NY 11216. The Fringe Festival always delivers wide varieties of theater, theater that is presented quite differently than what is usually displayed in the mainstream scene. This year is no different and one of the more unique shows in performances down town this year is Smoke and Mirrors Co.'s NDEBELE FUNERAL.

Smoke and Mirrors Collaborative, as part of the 17th annual New York International Fringe Festival, is pleased to announce the New York premiere production of Zoey Martinson's NDEBELE FUNERAL, directed by Awoye Timpo. NDEBELE FUNERAL will play a limited engagement as part of the New York International Fringe Festival, at Teatro Circulo (64 East 4th Street, NYC), which runs from August 9-25, 2013.

The African American experience is not represented solely by one voice or one style. For the third year in a row Horse Trade Theater Group will present The Fire This Time Festival, providing a platform for talented early-career playwrights of African and African-American descent to explore new voices, styles, and challenging new directions for 21st century performing arts in order to move beyond common misconceptions of what's possible in 'black theater.'
