The Tony and Olivier Award-winning musical, Billy Elliot, will receive a brand-new production at Curve Leicester in summer 2022. 

The Opera Forward Festival surprises with everything opera can be. With work by established names and a new generation of makers, musical performances, video art and talks, OFF explores the art form that is opera. From the theme that is central to this sixth edition, 'New Beginnings', OFF invites the audience to discover that opera is also something for them.

Black Spatial Relics is a new performance residency about slavery, justice, and freedom. The residency annually supports the development of new performance works that address and incorporate public histories of slavery and contemporary issues and pursuits of justice and freedom.

Theatrical Outfit has announced The Graham Martin UNEXPECTED PLAY FESTIVAL 2022 – a four-part series of digital readings of brand-new plays by Atlanta playwrights in partnership with Working Title Playwrights. Over four nights some of the best talent in ATL will come together to share fresh and topical stories with you.

Freeform has ordered the half-hour animated comedy series “Praise Petey” (working title) from creator, writer and executive producer Anna Drezen and Monica Patrick. The cast also includes Annnie Murphy, John Cho, Christine Baranski, Kiersey Clemons, Amy Hill, and Stephen Root will star in the new series.

Broadway and television star Aaron Lazar (Fox’s Filthy Rich, Broadway’s The Last Ship, A Little Night Music, Les Misérables, and The Light in the Piazza) joins the exciting lineup of talented performers alongside singer/songwriter, musician, producer and engineer, Brian McKnight Jr., who comes from a legendary musically gifted family including famed father Brian McKnight. American Idol 4th place finalist on season 4, Anthony Fedorov, Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist actor Michael Thomas Grant, and RCA recording artist Nina Nelson, member of girl group Citizen Queen (with over 30 million music video views), also join the cast for the first time. Rounding out the group of newcomers is Cheyenne Wells who starred in the recent production of Little Shop of Horrors at Pasadena Playhouse with MJ Rodriguez.

A brand-new stage adaptation of The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is set to be a major new theatre production. Written by Deborah Moggach, adapted from her bestselling novel which inspired the BAFTA and Golden Globe-nominated film, and directed by Lucy Bailey, the cherished story will be brought to life on stage when it opens at the Richmond Theatre on Tuesday, 30th August 2022.

Shakespeare's Globe has announced this year's Christmas production, a festive re-imagining of Hans Christian Andersen's The Fir Tree. The Fir Tree promises to be a magical family festive production of storytelling, puppetry, song and hope. Audiences are invited to take part in carol-singing and tree-decorating while enjoying a hot chocolate or mulled wine under the wintry star-lit sky of the Globe Theatre. 

Season one featured Anjana Vasan (Amina Hussain), Sarah Kameela Impey (Saira), Juliette Motamed (Ayesha), Faith Omole (Bisma), Lucie Shorthouse (Momtaz), Zaqi Ismail (Ahsan) and Aiysha Hart (Noor). The renewal of We Are Lady Parts joins the additional second season renewals of Peacock comedies GIRLS5EVA and Rutherford Falls.
