AIDS Walk Los Angeles is the world's first fundraising event of its kind, and the event continues to keep the public engaged in the HIV/AIDS crisis. Last year, a passionate crowd of 30,000 walkers and 2,500 volunteers raised $3 million for HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, and advocacy programs. Since its inception, the event has raised more than $72 million to fight the disease in Los Angeles County.
Actor and Activist Wilson Cruz Joins GLAAD Staff

GLAAD President Herndon Graddick announced today that actor and LGBT advocate Wilson Cruz will join GLAAD's staff as the Strategic Giving Officer. Cruz help fund GLAAD's work amplifying stories from the LGBT community that build support for equality.

More than 5,000 LGBT runners and their allies will take to Central Park to celebrate Pride Weekend today, June 23, 2012. This is the 31st running of this 5-mile race, produced in conjunction with New York Road Runners and in partnership with City Parks & Recreation and The Central Park Conservancy. This annual event (which sold out more than a month in advance) has turned into one of the largest LGBT sporting events in the world and this year will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
