Gospel and neo-soul performers Trey McLaughlin and the Sounds of Zamar will perform in Smothers Theatre at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at the Lisa Smith Wengler Center for the Arts. 

The 92nd Street Y Harkness Dance Center's 2022/23 Mainstage Series continues with choreographer, educator, and producer Johnnie Cruise Mercer's 'to those who have seed in the ground', bringing together two generations of artists with the intention of calling upon (and embodying) collective inner will.  

The 92nd Street Y, New York Harkness Dance Center's 2022/23 Mainstage Series opens on Thursday, September 22 with UNA Productions, and the New York premiere of Grass is Green, an evening-length work for seven dancers and drag queen/live cellist/live pianist Rose Nylons, choreographed by Chuck Wilt in collaboration with the performers: Kira Fargas, Tushrik Fredericks, Dominica Greene, Dasol Kim, Rebecca Margolick, Hadassah Perry, Chuck Wilt, and Drag queen & live cellist/pianist: Rose Nylons.

The 92nd Street Y, New York Harkness Dance Center has announced the 2022/23 season, anchored by the Mainstage Series. The Mainstage Series features unique performances in one of the art form’s most historic spaces, where audiences witnessed iconic artists including Martha Graham, Alvin Ailey (premiering Revelations), Jose Limón and Pearl Primus.

Trey McLaughlin & The Sounds of Zamar are a renowned gospel/neo-soul collective hailing from Augusta, Georgia, known for their opulent harmonies, clever musical theater covers, and beautiful, anthemic originals. The ensemble, organized in 2009, has performed with gospel greats such as William McDowell, Kierra “Kiki” Sheard, Richard Smallwood, VaShawn Mitchell, Earnest Pugh, and James Fortune.

The Flynn has announced the grand reopening of its historic Main Stage theater, which will feature special programs from local, national, and global artists, updated facilities, and a Broadway season. The Grand Reopening Celebration will be held, at full capacity, on Saturday, October 23.

While Will McMillan may not (yet) be a household name, his creativity and musical genius are more familiar than one might know. McMillan, Minister of Music at i5 City Church in Baltimore, Maryland, has collaborated with such Gospel music luminaries as Tasha Cobbs, Jason Nelson, Jonathan Nelson and William McDowell. McDowell, along with Travis Greene, has also entrusted McMillan with music director duties along the way.
