The Foundation for Contemporary Arts Announces John Cage Award Winner

On January 27th, the Foundation for Contemporary Arts announced its 2022 awards, with 20 artists recognized in the fields of dance, music & sound art, performance art & theater, poetry, and the visual arts. Among the grantees is Petr Kotik, who receives the 2022 John Cage Award.

The Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit makes its return with its 90th Fall Show, taking place Labor Day weekend, September 4, 5 & 6, and continuing the following weekend, September 11 and 12. September and October Lineup Announced For The Hylton Performing Arts Center

On October 10, pianist Jeffrey Siegel officially relaunches indoor Hylton Presents performances in Merchant Hall with his concerts with commentary Keyboard Conversations Classics Declassified. Siegel hands off the baton to the Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra on October 30 for their Big Band Era performance Swingin' with the Met.

Erika Dickerson-Despenza Awarded 2021 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize for CULLUD WATTAH

The 2021 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize has been awarded to U.S. playwright Erika Dickerson-Despenza for her play about the Flint, Michigan water crisis, cullud wattah. Awarded annually since 1977, The Susan Smith Blackburn Prize is the largest and oldest international prize honoring Women+ playwrights.

Rose Art Museum Awarded Henry Luce Grant

The Rose Art Museum has received a $350,000 grant from the Henry Luce Foundation in support of the Museum’s forthcoming 60th anniversary project, titled re: collections, Six Decades at the Rose Art Museum.

Rose Art Museum Receives Record Number of Gifts of Art for its 60th Anniversary

The Rose Art Museum has announced the gift of 86 works of art in honor of the museum’s 60th anniversary. This trove of artworks – by established and emerging artists – includes significant pieces by Francesco Clemente, Renee Cox, Jim Dine, Jenny Holzer, Danny Lyon, Yoko Ono, Jenny Holzer, Tracey Moffatt, Pablo Picasso, and Andy Warhol among others.
