Founding Artistic Director Jeffrey Horowitz today announced TFANA’s 2021-2022 season of productions of plays by Shakespeare, Alice Childress, and Will Eno, and the residency of CLASSIX.

Vivid Stage, formerly Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre, in residence at Oakes Center at 120 Morris Avenue in Summit, is offering two pass options that offer savings and flexibility for its new season.

For its 39th season, Pacific Theatre returns to in-theatre performance with a two-part slate featuring existential comedies, challenging dramas, and live music.

This professional company will bring four productions, including three world premieres and one workshop production, to the stage in addition to improvisational comedy, play readings, and educational programs for teens and adults. 

Mildred's Umbrella Theater Company continues their 2021-2022 season with the final digital project, LADY GREY (in ever lower light) by renowned playwright, Will Eno. Directed by Greg Dean, and starring Sally Burtenshaw, this production was performed on stage and filmed for a streaming audience. 

Remy Bumppo Theatre Company has announced Marti Lyons as artistic director. Lyons assumes this role effective immediately. Lyons was selected after a national search led by ALJP Consulting, with a search committee composed of select staff, Core Ensemble members, Board members and representatives of the local community.

Michael Ritchie announced that he will retire as Artistic Director of Center Theatre Group on December 31, 2021. Having taken over the position from Founding Artistic Director Gordon Davidson in January, 2005, for more than 16 years, Ritchie has led one of the country’s largest nonprofit regional theatres, producing and presenting 266 productions.

Chester Theatre Company (CTC) is bringing its 2021 season, dubbed Chester@Hancock, to the Berkshires this summer. The Laguna Playhouse will be streaming a virtual staged reading of D.L. Coburn’s Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, THE GIN GAME February 14 through February 16, 2021. Jenny Sullivan directs this much-produced two-hander with a pair of very juicy acting roles for Joe Spano and JoBeth Williams as two nursing home residents. The always working Joe (even in these pandemic times) managed to carve out some time to answer a few of my queries.
