The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage today announced a major grant of $300,000 to GRAMMY-winning new-music choir The Crossing in support of Farming, a concert-length musical work by frequent Crossing collaborator, composer Ted Hearne, to be premiered in summer 2023.

GRAMMY-winning new-music choir The Crossing has announced the launch of its current project The Crossing Votes: 2020, a series of four new short films, continuing the ensemble's commitment to reporting and responding to the times in which we live. The Crossing Votes: 2020 includes two world premieres, written for the project.

On Saturday, October 3, 2020 and Sunday, October 4, 2020 from 4:30-5:30pm, GRAMMY-winning new-music choir The Crossing, led by Donald Nally, presents a unique, socially distant, live performance titled The Forest.

On Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. ET, Warren Miller Performing Arts Center (WMPAC) and GRAMMY-winning choir The Crossing, led by conductor Donald Nally, co-present the world premiere of David Lang's in nature, performed in real time with Montana-based choir Roots in the Sky (formerly the Aoide Chamber Singers).

BendFilm announced today a lineup full of creative ways to see films outside in the comfort of a car or in the open air of Tin Pan Alley. Films in the lineup are a wide range of adventure stories, throwback classics, music documentaries, blockbusters and more.  Several screenings have filmmaker Q&As or post film discussions planned.  In addition to the in-person screenings, BendFilm will continue to offer virtual rentals of new release films through the Tin Pan Theater.  New titles are listed each week at TinPanTheater.com.

The Annenberg Center will present Grammya"?-winning new-music choir The Crossing in the premiere of a newly staged theatrical production, Knee Plays, on Friday, February 21, 2020 at 8pm and Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 8pm at the Harold Prince Theatre. The program, part of the Center's #GLASSFEST celebration, features a rare opportunity to hear Knee Plays from Philip Glass's Einstein on the Beach and David Byrne's New Orleans-inspired contribution to Robert Wilson's large scale project, the CIVIL warS. The premiere will be narrated by popular Philadelphia actor Dito van Reigersberg.

Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center has announced a Holiday tradition with the Green Mountain Mahler Festival's performance of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony on Saturday, December 28 at 7:00 pm.

Winter begins with Warren Miller and this year is no exception when Alberta Bair Theater presents Timeless, the 70th film of the franchise, on Friday, December 13 at 7:30 p.m. at Babcock Theatre. Local ski sensation Tim Hedin will again emcee the event that includes raffle items from area businesses and fresh pours from Uberbrew for those 21 and older.

The Crossing has received an extremely generous $200,000 gift from long-time friend, advocate, and supporter Thomas Kasdorf of Kalamazoo, Michigan. The extraordinary unrestricted funding will support The Crossing's 2019-2020 season, with commissions of Edie Hill, Tawnie Olsen, Gavin Bryars, Daniel Felsenfeld, Aaron Helgeson, Gabriel Jackson, and Michael Gordon at venues such as Crane Arts Icebox, the Met Cloisters, the Hal Prince Theater and Zellerbach Theaters at the Annenberg Center, Holy Trinity Rittenhouse Square, Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall, and at The Crossing's home, the Presbyterian Church of Chestnut Hill.
