Now in its 12th consecutive year, the International Black Film Festival (IBFF) takes over Nashville, TN on October 5 through October 7. 

It's the day of the show, y'all: The Nashville premiere of Mart Crowley's The Boys in the Band is tonight - at The Barbershop Theatre, 4003 Indiana Avenue in The Nations - and six of the actors portraying Crowley's now-iconic characters took time from tech week to answer questions about their processes and to offer their reasons for why you should come see the show.

Sierra Rep is proud to present two-time Pulitzer-Prize winning playwright Lynn Nottage's Intimate Apparel. The production will be helmed by the company's Producing Artistic Director Scott Viets. This winner of the 2004 Steinberg New Play Award, New York Drama Critics' Circle Award, and Outer Critics Circle Award plays for a limited engagement at the East Sonora Theatre October 12-28.

 Investigation Discovery (ID), the leading destination for true-crime programming, announced today the world premiere of the new series TWISTED SISTERS, with one of America's most well-known sisters, at the helm.  Produced by 44 Blue Productions, and Khlomoney Entertainment, and executive produced by Khloé Kardashian, and Stephanie Noonan Drachkovitch, the six-part series, TWISTED SISTERS will premiere on ID this LABOR DAY, MONDAY SEPTEMBER 3 AT 10/9C.  Following this special world premiere, the series will air every Monday at 10/9C.

Aaron Pierre is currently playing Cassio in Shakespeare's Globe's production of Othello. Pierre is a graduate of LAMDA and was recently seen as Dev-EM in the series Krypton.

The seventh annual ceremony of the Women Making History Awards is hosted by the National Women's History Museum (NWHM) and its Los Angeles Regional Council. The ceremony commemorates inspiring women who are making significant field-related and global contributions. 

Open Book Theatre Company in Trenton gears up for another season of plays worth talking about

Open Book Theatre Company is pleased to announce its fifth season.  The award winning professional theatre will present 5 plays, including a Michigan Premiere.  Two of the plays won Tony Awards for Best Play, and one of those also earned the Pulitzer.

Disney|ABC Television received a total of 39 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, it was announced today by the Television Academy. ABC received 31 nominations; ABC Studios collected 14; and Disney Channels received five.
