BAFTA has announced the nominations for the EE British Academy Film Awards in 2019.

From Academy Award® Winner Steve McQueen*, the director of 12 Years a Slave, and from Gillian Flynn, the writer of Gone Girl, comes a powerful thriller with a stellar cast, including Oscar® Winner Viola Davis**, Michelle Rodriguez, Elizabeth Debicki and Cynthia Erivo. Four women — with nothing in common except a debt left by their dead husbands' criminal acts — conspire to take fate into their own hands.

The 50th NAACP Image Awards will air LIVE on TV One, a division of Urban One, Inc., on March 30, 2019. For the first time ever, the telecast will take place from the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California. The announcement was made today by NAACP National Board of Directors Chairman Leon W. Russell, NAACP President and CEO Derrick Johnson, Chief Executive Officer, Urban One, Inc. & Chairman/CEO, TV One Alfred Liggins and TV One General Manager Michelle Rice.

AARP The Magazine today announced the nominees for the upcoming 18th Annual Movies for Grownups® Awards, with A Star Is Born, BlacKkKlansman, Can You Ever Forgive Me?, Green Book and Roma contending in the Best Picture/Best Movie for Grownups category. The awards celebrate 2018's standout films with unique appeal to movie lovers with a grownup state of mind and recognize the inspiring artists who make them. Celebrated comedian and actor Martin Short will host the star-studded evening at the Beverly Wilshire, Beverly Hills on Monday, February 4.

The nonprofit Sundance Institute announced today the showcase of new independent feature films selected across all categories for the 2019 Sundance Film Festival. The Festival hosts screenings in Park City, Salt Lake City and at Sundance Mountain Resort, from January 24 - February 3, 2019.
