The national tour of 'The Play That Goes Wrong,' the hilarious Tony Award-winning hit Broadway comedy celebrated its opening night at the Ahmanson Theatre last night!

Trinity Rep announces the on-sale dates for its 2019-20 Season, including the date for the highly anticipated productions of The Prince of Providence and A Christmas Carol, both of which are expected to sell out.

Chester Theatre Company (CTC) is proud to present Gem of the Valley, an immersive special event taking place July 18-20. The town of Chester is the focus of the piece which pays homage to the village, and the theatre that has called it home for 30 years. The work is being produced with assistance from Eggtooth Productions, and with support from Art Angels.

THE EXES, a new 'bromantic' comedy written by award-winning author Lenore Skomal and directed by Magda S. Nyiri will begin previews on Thursday, August 7th and run through Saturday, October 5th, Off-Broadway at Theatre Row.

The Festival, which has grown over the years and is expected to attract over 20,000 patrons this year, highlights the authentic Jamaican Jerk flavor.

In past concerts that have been described by the New York Times as being “soulful,” “evocative,” and “playing directly to the band's strengths,” the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis performed original compositions inspired by masters of modern art including Romare Bearden, Stuart Davis, Sam Gilliam, Winslow Homer, Wifredo Lam, Norman Lewis and Piet Mondrian. On August 2, 2019,Blue Engine Records will release the studio recordings of these charts on a new album entitled Jazz and Art.

Female folk-roots trio Red Molly brings its three-part harmonies, dazzling virtuosity, and impeccable songcraft to Club Helsinki Hudson on Wednesday, August 7, at 8pm.

Caren Tackett will present 'Side; a tale of mental illness' in concert at NYMF 2019, taking place at the Laurie Beechman Theater on July 9 (6pm) and July 10 (9:30pm), and featuring musicians Dov Schiller, Jaco Schiller, Vincent Vinezia & Jennifer Vincent, with additional vocals provided by Emily Afton, Amelia Cosco, Lauren Elder, Colin Gregory & Elise Levin, and Direction by Colin Gregory.

Though a part of me misses the annual summer farce usually staged at this time, it's hard to fault Gregg Brandt for staging one of the most crowd-pleasing musicals of all time

FRANK TURNER has announced details of his forthcoming eighth new album, NO MAN'S LAND, released on August 16th on Xtra Mile RecordingsPolydor Records. With GRAMMY® winning producer Catherine Marks (St. Vincent, Local Natives) at the helm and featuring a dynamic cast of all-female musicians, NO MAN'S LAND is an album dedicated to telling the fascinating stories of women whose incredible lives have all too often been overlooked. 'These stories should have been told already,' says Turner of the album and its accompanying podcast series, 'Tales From No Man's Land' which launches its first episode today. 'And I suspect if they were men they would be better known.'

We struggle as humans to fit in and be enough at any given moment, and that's the lesson Lena Horne offered the world and herself.  Even though she made history and became a champion of the Civil Rights movement, she struggled every step of the way with the identity created by her appearance and demeanor.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is extending invitations to join the organization to 842 artists and executives who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to theatrical motion pictures. The 2019 class is 50% women, 29% people of color, and represents 59 countries. Those who accept the invitations will be the only additions to the Academy's membership in 2019.

The Morris Choral Society's Spring Concert 'Greatest Hits from Opera and Broadway' led by MCS Music Director Jason Tramm played to a full house and enthusiastic audiences on May 18th and 19th in Morristown, New Jersey.

Disney Television Studios including Twentieth Century Fox Television, ABC Studios and Fox 21 Television Studios takes over the San Diego Comic-Con convention with stars and creators of 14 of its fan-favorite shows descending on the world-famous gathering next month. In addition to exclusive sneak peeks of its programs and panel discussions with the casts and creators, the studio will rotate producers and stars through the ABC and 20th Century Fox Television booths on the convention center floor for autograph signings and activities, including distribution of exclusive 2019 poster tubes, collectible mini-posters, premium giveaways and DVD sales.
