BWW Review: Ammons, Krebs Lead Entertaining SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS at Springhouse

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, the 1982 stage musical borne of the 1954 film treatment based on a story by Stephen Vincent Benet, doesn't hold up as well in 2019 as many classic musical theater titles a?" what with its sexist storyline, ersatz score that longs to remind us of something by Rodgers and Hammerstein, and its meandering plot a?" but make no mistake about it: The production of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, now onstage through this weekend at Smyrna's Springhouse Theatre Company is mighty entertaining, thanks to Paula K. Parker's talented cast who bring the show to life with vigor and commitment.

VIOLINS OF HOPE Comes to Canada

The Montreal Holocaust Museum, in collaboration with the Orchestre Métropolitain, present The Violins of Hope, a concert under the direction of the internationally-renowned Dutch conductor Vincent De Kort. Following select performances in Europe and the United States, the Violins of Hope will be played for the first time in Canada by musicians of the Orchestre Métropolitain at Maison symphonique de Montréal, Place des Arts on Saturday, November 2nd at 7:30 pm.

L'UniThéâtre Presents SIMONE ET LE WHOLE SHEBANG

Each performance includes English surtitles making L'UniThéâtre accessible to English audiences. Edmonton- YEG's only professional Francophone theatre company returns for another season of local and Canadian-made theatre written and performed in French with English surtitles. Simone et le whole shebang, nominated for the Michel Tremblay Prize and recently premiered by Le Laboratoire theatre company, is the first presentation.

Signature Theatre Announces Casting And Creative Team For A CHORUS LINE

Signature Theatre announced today the full cast and creative team for A Chorus Line with music by Marvin Hamlisch, lyrics by Edward Kleban and book by James Kirkwood Jr. & Nicholas Dante. Main Street Theatre Works Presents A TALE OF TWO CITIES Live Radio Show

The finest radio dramas of the late 1930's were presented by The Mercury Theater On The Air, founded by Orson Welles and John Houseman. Together, they presented many classic pieces of literature, and shook the country with it's terrifying staging of a?oeWar of the Worlds.a?? Main Street Theatre Works (MSTW) is re-creating one of these literary classic radio plays, A Tale of Two Cities, complete with live sound effects. This limited-engagement fundraiser will have only two performances ~ Saturday, November 2nd at 8:00pm, and Sunday, November 3rd at 2pm. Performances will be at our new location, The Historic Sutter Creek Grammar School, 110 Broad Street, Sutter Creek. Tickets are $25 and include a dessert bar, coffee or tea, and the show. A no-host wine bar will be available on a donation basis.

Netflix Announces the Cast for INTO THE NIGHT

Netflix's first Belgian original series, Into the Night, has started filming. The series will feature an international cast from Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Russia, and Turkey.
