Just in time for the holidays The Wizards of Winter appear at Spencer Theater Friday, November 22 at 7 p.m., inspiring patrons to journey into the magic of the season.

In a world where it is now normal to name your baby Bear, Apple and Denim, it is interesting for a play to explore if a person's name reflect who they really are. In Matthieu Delaporte and Alexandre de la Patellière's 2010 comedy Le Prénom, a group of friends is challenged when one couple's decision about what they will name their child causes controversy, arguments and even violence. Translated into English by Jeremy Sams (who also directs), What's in a Name? was a hit play, a film and is now revived for a second time in the UK.

Everyman Theatre continues its 2019/2020 season with Agatha Christie's famous whodunita?"the literary, cinematic, and now theatrical classic, Murder on the Orient Express. Everyman's production, directed by Founding Artistic Director Vincent M. Lancisi and adapted by noted playwright Ken Ludwig (Lend Me A Tenor, Crazy For You), runs December 3, 2019, through January 5, 2020.

The Drama League announced today the 2020 line-up of DirectorFest: The 36th Annual Directors Festival, the only festival in the United States dedicated to the art of contemporary stage directing. For its 36th year, the festival will include six fully-staged productions, a showcase concert of a new musical, a town hall, and conversations with directors including 2017 Tony Award Winner Rebecca Taichman (Indecent), 2014 Tony Award Winner and 2010 Drama League Founders Award for Excellence in Directing Kenny Leon (A Soldier's Play), and Intimacy Director Claire Warden (HBO's Mrs. Fletcher).

The Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild (MUAHS, IATSE Local 706) has announced nominations for the 7th Annual MUAHS Guild Awards honoring outstanding achievements in make-up and hair styling in motion pictures, television, commercials and live theater.  Fox Searchlight Pictures announced today that principal photography on THE EYES OF TAMMY FAYE is underway in Charlotte, North Carolina. The film is written by Abe Sylvia (Dead to Me, DIRTY GIRL) and directed by Michael Showalter (THE BIG SICK; HELLO, MY NAME IS DORIS), and stars Jessica Chastain (MOLLY'S GAME, ZERO DARK THIRTY) and Andrew Garfield (HACKSAW RIDGE, SILENCE). The film is based on Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato's acclaimed 2000 documentary of the same name chronicling the dynamic ascent and subsequent demise and redemption of televangelists Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker as described by Tammy Faye herself.

The soundtrack from the highly-anticipated Disney+ a?oeHigh School Musical:  The Musical: The Seriesa?? will be available for pre-order beginning tomorrow, November 8. The Disney+ series will generate over 40 pieces of music and content.  The High School Musical: The Musical: The Series cast members penned two of the new songs for the Walt Disney Records OST. a?oeJust A Momenta?? (airing January 3, 2020) was co-written by Joshua Bassett (Ricky) and Olivia Rodrigo (Nini) as well as Dan Book, who also produced the track. a?oeAll I Wanta?? was written by Olivia Rodrigo and is set to air November 29.
