Duck and cover, make it to high ground, stop, drop and roll, batten down the hatches -- prepare to weather the storm! BroadwayWorld has learned that the new musical DISASTER! will begin performances on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 and officially open on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Broadway's Nederlander Theatre (208 West 41st Street).

Cole Porters Musical KISS ME KATE gewann 1949, im Jahr nach der Urauffuhrung, allein funf Tony Awards. Zumal Porter im Ehepaar Spewack kongeniale Partner hatte, deren Textbuch mit einer großen Portion Ironie einen selbstkritischen Blick auf allerlei absurde Theaterklischees wirft. In dem Maße, wie sich Buhnenfiktion und reales Geschehen annahern, gewinnt das Stuck an Situationskomik und ist am Ende viel mehr als eine Liebesgeschichte. Das Staatstheater Kassel bring diesen Musicalklassiker in dieser Spielzeit im Opernhaus auf die Buhne. Die Premiere fand am vergangenen Samstag statt und wurde mit großem Beifall gefeiert. Und auch Kritiker zeigten sich angetan.

Gleich drei Musicalpremieren stehe zusatzlich zu zwei Wiederaufnahmen aus der letzten Spielzeit 2015/2016 in Luneburg auf dem Programm! Und dabei handelt es sich um drei Stucke, wie sie verschiedenener kaum sein konnten: FAST NORMAL, KISS ME, KATE und NATÜRLICH BLOND.

100-year-old actress Patricia Morison, who originated the role of 'Kate' in Broadway's KISS ME KATE, and took over the role of Anna in the 1954 Rodgers and Hammerstein production of THE KING AND I, shared a special performance of 'Shall We Dance' in honor of her fellow Anna, Kelli O'Hara.

Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston continues its 47th consecutive summer season with the hilariously entertaining Kiss Me, Kate, from July 9-19, 2015 at the Robinson Theatre (617 Lexington St. Waltham, MA, 02452). Starring Broadway couple Sarah Pfisterer as Lilli Vanessi/Kate (The Phantom of the Opera, Reagle's My Fair Lady) and Rick Hilsabeck as Fred Graham/Petruchio (Billy Elliot, Reagle's My Fair Lady), Cole Porter's hilarious musical recounts the madcap backstage and onstage antics of two feuding couples during a production of The Taming of the Shrew. ?The Old Globe and Hartford Stage's co-production of Kiss Me, Kate, the classic musical comedy featuring a book by Sam and Bella Spewack and an iconic score by Cole Porter, will be choreographed by Peggy Hickey and directed by Hartford Stage Artistic Director and former Old Globe Shakespeare Festival Artistic Director Darko Tresnjak, who won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical for A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, which made its world premiere at The Old Globe and Hartford Stage in 2013. The Heights Players wraps up its "Season of Firsts" by presenting the glorious musical that won the first-ever Tony awarded for Best Musical, Kiss Me, Kate.  Considered to be one of Broadway's treasures, this musical has wit, charm and true Broadway energy, with much of the credit going to the brilliant score by Cole Porter.  Kiss Me, Kate opens Friday, May 15th at the Heights Players and will run through Sunday, May 31st.
