Point Park University's Pittsburgh Playhouse 2017-2018 season celebrates the diversity of the theatrical experience with professional and student productions, Pittsburgh premieres, Tony Award-winning musicals, edgy new works and fresh takes on classic stories.

Passions run high as leading lady Lilli Vanessi and her ex-husband, actor/director Fred Graham, battle onstage and off in a production of Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew. With romance, comedy, sophistication, and behind-the-scenes high jinks, KISS ME, KATE combines the irreverent humor of two brilliant writers: Cole Porter and William Shakespeare. Musical numbers include "So In Love," "Wunderbar," "Tom, Dick or Harry," "Too Darn Hot," "Brush Up Your Shakespeare," "I Hate Men," "Always True to You (In My Fashion)" and "Another Op'nin, Another Show."

Alicia Krakauer, a born and bred New Yorker, is an actress and singer/songwriter. She holds a BFA from Syracuse University, and an MA from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London, both in musical theatre.

Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor has announced the Bay Street Under the Stars series which will include FREE concerts in Mashashimuet Park this summer as Bay Street presents the classic Broadway musical Kiss Me, Kate on August 25 & 26 at 7pm.

Music Theater Works (formerly Light Opera Works) presents the Leonard Bernstein classic, CANDIDE, based on Voltaire's satire on the follies of the human race, at Cahn Auditorium in Evanston, June 3 through 11. A 24-piece orchestra accompanies the well-known songs "Glitter and Be Gay," "The Best of All Possible Worlds" and "Make Our Garden Grow."

BroadwayWorld has learned that last night at a concert in Norfolk, Virgina Kelli O'Hara hinted to the audience that she might soon be returning to Broadway in a revival of KISS ME, KATE. Audience members reported that before singing 'So In Love' O'hara said 'I may or may not be singing this role soon on Broadway.'

William Peace Theatre opens its 2016-17 season with the beloved Broadway musical, Kiss Me, Kate.  The show runs two weeks, October 20-22 and 28-29 at Kenan Auditorium on the William Peace University Campus in downtown Raleigh.

Three productions inspired by William Shakespeare make up Welsh National Opera's Autumn season, which will comprise a British premiere and two new productions.  The season is part of the official Shakespeare 400 celebrations to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the great bard's death whilst continuing WNO Artistic Director David Pountney's creative approach to themed seasons.

MTAP's Hot Metal Musicals Incubator proudly unveils Me, Myself and Others - a musical work-in-development by Eva Rainforth. This one night only stage reading features Eva Rainforth, Beth Bush and Zanna Fredland. Me, Myself and Others will be held on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 7:00pm at the Pittsburgh CLO's Charles Gray Auditorium, 130 CLO Academy Way in downtown Pittsburgh.
