Blue Note Jazz Festival Presents I REMEMBER YOU: An Evening With Diane Schuur, 6/10

On December 10, 2013 Diane Schuur turned 60. She also completed her first-ever recording in homage to her two most important and influential mentors: Stan Getz (who discovered her at the Monterey Jazz Festival in 1979) and Frank Sinatra, whose artwork hangs prominently in her Palm Springs home. Entitled I Remember You (With Love to Stan and Frank), the album of twelve songs, all previously recorded by Getz or Sinatra, or both, was produced by Diane and her new manager, Mary Ann Topper, at Avatar Studios in New York, and is set for release on Jazzheads, June 10, 2014. It also features a stellar cast of musicians, including: Alan Broadbent (arrangements/piano), Roni Ben-Hur and Romero Lubambo (guitars), Joel Frahm (saxophone) , Ben Wolfe (bass) and Ulysses Owens Jr. on drums.

South Florida's premier modern jazz organization is privileged to feature the Christian McBride Trio. Mr. McBride is at the zenith of modern acoustic and electric bassists. Best known as a jazz musician, he also is in tremendous demand in several genres. Blue Note Jazz Club, the iconic Greenwich Village jazz and blues venue that offers live musical performances every night of the week, is proud to announce an impressive roster of acts this September. Each performer is scheduled for two shows per night, 8:00 pm and 10:30 pm, unless otherwise noted. Doors open at 6:00 pm and reservations are strongly suggested. Kurt Elling Brings Grammy-Winning Jazz to Cooperstown Festival, 7/29

The Kurt Elling Quartet with John McLean will perform July 29 at 7:30 pm at the Otesaga Hotel in Cooperstown, NY, as part of the Cooperstown Summer Music Festival. Grammy-winner Elling will perform jazz standards as well as songs from his new album, The Gate.
