Jazz Philadelphia, the non-profit organization created to promote Philadelphia's thriving jazz scene and prolific jazz history, is proud to announce that two local artists - Paul Jost and Laurin Talese -- have been selected to be among 17 U.S. bands representing the diversity of American music to embark on two-week international tours in 2019-2020 as part of the American Music Abroad (AMA) international cultural exchange. AMA, created in 1957, is an initiative of the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, implemented by the Association of American Voices. AMA fosters cross-cultural connections while showcasing America's rich and diverse musical traditions to a global audience.

Drawing from a wide range of musical influence including classical, R&B, soul, and gospel, this Brooklyn resident brings her scintillating jazz stylings to Brooklyn's Kumble Theater, including a preview of selections from her yet-to-be-released second album, Intuition: Songs from the Minds of Women.

The Houston Chamber Choir's 20th Anniversary season will reach its climactic finish in an evening of jazz with virtuoso bassist and five-time Grammy winner Christian McBride. The Christian McBride Trio including pianist Christian Sands, and drummer Ulysses Owens, Jr., will headline the concert where the centerpiece is a world premiere of McBride's groundbreaking work for jazz ensemble and choir. The concert takes place at the Cullen Theater in The Wortham Center on Sunday, May 22nd at 4:00pm.

Jazz at Lincoln Center celebrates International Jazz Appreciation Month with a diverse line-up of artists throughout Frederick P. Rose Hall, the "House of Swing."
