Berkshire Theatre Group and Artistic Director/CEO Kate Maguire have announced additions to the 2018 fall and winter seasons.

Berkshire Theatre Group, celebrating its 90th milestone season, presents the musical Tarzan with book by David Henry Hwang, and music & lyrics by Phil Collins, based on the story "Tarzan of the Apes" by Edgar Rice Burroughs and the Disney film, Tarzan.

Featuring hit music by rock legend, Phil Collins, such as the Academy Award-winning 'You'll Be in My Heart,' as well as 'Two Worlds,' Tarzan swings and sings onto The Colonial Theatre stage (111 South Street; Pittsfield, MA), running Today, July 26 through Today, August 16. Directed by Travis Daly (The Music Man, Beauty and the Beast, Mary Poppins), with music direction by Mark Gionfriddo (The Music Man, Beauty and the Beast, Mary Poppins) and choreography by Avital Asuleen (The Music Man), this adored musical features over 100 talented Berkshire youth.

Berkshire Theatre Group (BTG) is thrilled to present Disney's The Lion King, Jr., featuring Berkshire elementary and middle school students. Directed by Travis Daly, music direction by Erin White and choreography by Kathy Jo Grover, Disney's The Lion King, Jr. will run at The Colonial Theatre on April 28 at 11am and 2pm, and April 29 at 2pm. There will be a talkback following the April 28TH 2pm performance, facilitated by director Travis Daly. This production is sponsored by Lead Sponsor, MountainOne; Lyon Aviation; Massachusetts Cultural Council and The Shubert Foundation.

Berkshire Theatre Group (BTG) welcomes Billy Budd in the Breadbox,as part of BTG PLAYS!, BTG's year-round education program, at The Garage (located in the Colonial Theatre lobby) during School Vacation week, February 18 through February 24. This event is part of the 10x10 Upstreet Arts Festival.

Opening night is set for tonight, June 24 at 8pm.

Berkshire Theatre Group has announced that it is the recipient of the Massachusetts' Cultural Council's Youth Reach Grant which will fund BTG PLAYS! partnering with JRC Youth. BTG PLAYS! with JRC Youth will provide twelve at-risk teens from Pittsfield's Juvenile Resource Center with theatre skills to build confidence and communication ability, and will train them to be assistant teachers/mentors for children in BTG playwriting residencies.
