State Theatre New Jersey will honor MetLife and Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. at the 2019 State Theatre Benefit Gala on Saturday, June 1, 2019 featuring Tony and Grammy Award-winning jazz vocalist Dee Dee Bridgewater and pianist Bill Charlap.
Over the last ten years, Sol Dance Center has become the most diverse dance studio in Astoria, and has not only managed to survive the turnover of shops on Steinway Street but has doubled in size since they opened in 2009. The studio, which was founded upon the Latin and Classical roots of owner, Karla Choko, now offers over 10 styles of dance for children and adults including Belly Dance, Heels, Hip-Hop, Flow Arts as well as private lessons, wedding choreography and space rentals. To celebrate their success, the team at Sol Dance Center is hosting a special version of their yearly showcase on June 22, 2019 at the 800-seat Tony Bennett Concert Hall at the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts titled 'Dancesanity: Creative Consciousness'.
This past weekend, multi-platinum award-winning singer, songwriter, global superstar and philanthropist, Josh Groban hosted his fourth annual Find Your Light Gala at the Ritz Carlton in Half Moon Bay, CA where stars joined together for a night of cocktails, dinner, auction, and performances by top musical artists. Those powerful pipes were on full display this past weekend, where Costa Mesa's Segerstrom Center once again played host to Lazar, this time for a splendid solo cabaret set entitled BROADWAY TO HOLLYWOOD that entertained audiences for three nightly performances, April 11-13.
10 Hairy Legs, the male repertory dance company, holds its 7th consecutive New York Season with a return to New York Live Arts June 27-29. Presented are World Premieres by Larry Keigwin and Adam Barruch. Barruch's work will have a newly composed score by Roarke Menzies. Larry Keigwin is a native New Yorker and choreographer who has danced his way from the Metropolitan Opera to Broadway and back. He founded KEIGWIN + COMPANY in 2003 and as artistic director, he has led the company as it has performed at The Kennedy Center, The Joyce Theater, The Guggenheim, and New York City Center, among many other venues. Adam Barruch currently creates and performs work under the epithet of his own company, Anatomiae Occultii. In addition, he has also created works for companies such as The Limón Company, Ailey II, Keigwin + Company, Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company, River North Dance Chicago, BalletX, Whim W'Him Seattle Contemporary Dance, Graham II, GroundWorks Dance Theater, Gina Gibney Dance Company and Minnesota Dance Theatre, as well as for dance icons Margie Gillis and Miki Orihara.

Friday's telecast grew over the prior day by 11% in Households (1.8/5), as well as opening night on Monday by 11% (1.8/5). Friday's show welcomed Celine Dion and Chris Tucker.
