This May, ahead of the 75th Annual Tony Awards, Charitybuzz has announced their biggest live theater initiatives yet, the Broadway Curtain Up Auction, full of once in a lifetime Broadway experiences, and the Broadway’s Biggest Fan Giveaway, which grants one lucky winner the ultimate Broadway getaway. 

The Actors Fund, the 140-year-old national human services organization for everyone in performing arts and entertainment, announced at its Annual Gala yesterday that, effective immediately, they have changed their name to Entertainment Community Fund, in order to better reflect the broad scope of industry professionals they help.

The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation’s 12th annual Broadway Belts for PFF! raised a record $475,000 in a new hybrid format on April 29. The sold-out gala at New York City’s Edison Ballroom, live streamed for the first time, is the single largest fundraiser in the Foundation’s history.

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS’ traditional in-theater red bucket fundraising concluded its long-awaited return with 40 Broadway, Off-Broadway and national touring productions raising $4,288,994 to provide meals and medication, health care and hope for those living with HIV/AIDS, dealing with COVID-19 or facing other debilitating illnesses.

A star-studded evening filled with triumph and joy, Broadway Backwards salutes love in all forms through the vitality of live theater.

More celebrity guests have been added to Stars in the House For Ukraine – the 10-hour telethon to raise money and awareness for those affected by the ongoing war in Ukraine. Hosted by Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley, the show will air live on Saturday, March 26th from 12:00pm ET – 10:00pm ET.

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS announced today that it is awarding $300,000 in emergency grants to immediately help the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. On behalf of the entire Broadway and New York City theater community - those onstage, offstage and in the audience - Broadway Cares is providing $100,000 each to Global Giving's Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund, the International Rescue Committee and Project HOPE.

Theater lovers and theater artists rallied together to help Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS provide a record $2,532,500 in grants last week to 127 food service and meal delivery programs in New York City and nationwide.

The foundation created by legendary lyricist Fred Ebb has awarded $2.6 million to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, topping the foundation’s previous record donation one year ago and cementing its place as the largest single donor in Broadway Cares history.

On Monday, December 6, Situation, in collaboration with The Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment, invites the next generation of changemakers to peek behind the curtain of Broadway’s vast job market in this special, virtual “open house” for college students, recent grads, and aspiring young professionals.

This Giving Tuesday, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is giving back, with a goal of providing 80,000 healthy meals for people who do not have enough to eat this winter. You can help by making a donation tomorrow. Donations will be matched dollar for dollar by generous donors Jodi and Howard Tenenbaum and Elizabeth Armstrong, if $100,000 is raised by the end of the day.

The nationally regarded Fulton Theatre in partnership with Greenfield continues the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) Speaker Series with it's production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella. The Series of four events throughout the season continues Sunday, December 5 at 5:00 pm at the Fulton Theatre, with AnnEliza Canning-Skinner (Fairy Godmother), Manna Nichols (Cinderella), and Kalen Robinson (Stepsister Grace). Tickets are FREE to the community, but reservations are required.
