Video: The Company of CABARET Heads Into Rehearsal At Barrington Stage Company

Barrington Stage Company has revealed a behind the scenes look at its new production of the legendary Kander & Ebb musical Cabaret, running June 14-July 8. Picture a once-grand German deco musical palace, now a symbol of resilience in disrepair, jutting out into the audience. Raw, dirty, visceral — the music promises to leave you breathless. See first look video of the cast in rehearsal here.

BWW Review: Will on the Hill and Far Away at Shakespeare Theatre Company

“What’s past is prologue” Prospero says in The Tempest, but when the present passes into the past what’s left is Will on the Hill and Far Away, the earnest and frequently successful effort by Congressmen to do Shakespeare funny. In this annual exercise, designed to raise funds for arts education, members of both Houses, as well as various other political luminaries (Washington is crawling with them), put themselves in preposterous situations which magically turn out well, just as characters in the Bard’s plays often do.

Shakespeare Theatre Company Announces WILL ON THE HILL Fundraiser

On Monday, June 7, Members of Congress and distinguished Washington influencers from both sides of the aisle will travel back to Shakespeare's day for one evening only! Following upon the success of last summer's virtual Will on the Hill, this year's performance will also be online with pay-what-you-will pricing.

BWW Review: SHIPWRECK at Woolly Mammoth

We never can seem to catch a break from the president, and a night out at Woolly Mammoth's American premiere of Anne Washburn's SHIPWRECK is no exception. A history play about 2017, SHIPWRECK follows a group of liberals who gather at a remodeled farmhouse, a young man adopted from Kenya reckoning with his connection to his family and his country, and the fallout from Trump's firing of FBI director James Comey.

Shakespeare Theatre Company Has Announced Cast For PETER PAN AND WENDY

Shakespeare Theatre Company has announced the cast of Peter Pan and Wendy (previously announced as Peter Pan), a reimagining of J.M. BARRIE's classic work by 'America's Most-Produced Playwright' (American Theatre) LAUREN GUNDERSON (Ada and the Engine, Silent Sky). This world premiere will be onstage for the holidays at Sidney Harman Hall from December 3, 2019-January 12, 2020.

BWW Review: SOUVENIR at Rep Stage in Columbia - You'll Laugh Till It Hurts!

It was exactly ten years ago I first saw Stephen Temperley's SOUVENIR at Baltimore Center Stage which starred Tony Award winner, Judy Kaye. I could not imagine seeing a better version of it ever. But, I was wrong. The Rep Stage version is just plain spectacular and the two actors who perform here, Grace Bauer and Alan Naylor are just plain marvelous.
