Variety reports that Tom Cruise has revealed the title for the upcoming TOP GUN sequel. The film will be titled with a reference to Cruise's character Lt. Pete Mitchell who went by the nickname Maverick.

In an appearance on this morning's Australian morning show SUNRISE today, actor Tom Cruise confirmed rumors that a new installment of TOP GUN is in the works.
