Chicago Children's Theatre, Chicago's largest professional theater company devoted exclusively to children and young families, will launch its 2021-2022 “Season of Resilience” this fall not with public performances, but in-school ROAR Residencies (Residencies of Arts and Resilience), developed with the Lurie Center for Childhood Resilience, to support kindergartners and first graders returning to school after a year of COVID.

Cabinet of Curiosity will present Sea Change, an outdoor celebration exploring the power of the sea and the feminine divine. It is a series of wild, strange, lovely puppet shows written by emerging female playwrights and lyricists Liz Chidester, Kasey Foster, Bethany Thomas, and Lindsey Noel Whiting.

M.A.D.D. Rhythms has announced its 20th Anniversary Season. In 2021, M.A.D.D. Rhythms continues to make a difference dancing rhythms with its yearlong celebration featuring video premieres, special events coinciding with a new documentary and M.A.D.D Rhythms publishing debut, social media happenings, classes and the Chicago Tap Summit.

The Saint Sebastian Players (SSP), resident theatre company of St. Bonaventure Oratory, take a trip down memory lane with Studio BE, a children's musical theatre company that has also produced at St. Bonaventure, in a?oeSide by Side by SSP and Studio BE: A Retrospective Musical Fundraiser.a?? Performances take place Saturday, December 7 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, December 8 at 2 p.m. (refreshments begin 30 minutes prior to curtain at both performances) in the lower level of St. Bonaventure, 1625 W. Due to its successful, sold-out run during the Chicago International Puppet Theater Festival, Cabinet of Curiosity is extending and moving its Tabletop Tragedies production to the Chopin Theatre Main Stage, February 7 through 17, 2019.

Chicago Human Rhythm Project (CHRP), presents the 28th annual summer festival of American tap and percussive dance, Rhythm World, featuring three generations of foot drummers including tap masters Dianne 'Lady Di' Walker and Sam Weber, STOMP cast members, many of Chicago's finest including, Star Dixon and Martin 'Tre' Dumas, and CHRP's Artist in Residence, Dani Borak leading Stone Soup Rhythms. Intensive educational programs will be offered in the Fine Arts Building and the American Rhythm Center, July 16-22. Performances take place July16-18, at the Jazz Showcase, Curtis Hall and the Polk Bros Performance Lawns at Navy Pier, with culminating concerts, JUBA! Masters of Tap and Percussive Dance, on July 20 and 21, at the Studebaker Theater featuring a host of virtuoso soloists and ensembles showcasing a mix of audience favorites and world premieres.

For 28 years, Chicago Human Rhythm Project (CHRP) has exposed young participants and scholarship students to the teaching and experience of masters in the field like Savion Glover, Jimmy Slyde, Dianne 'Lady Di' Walker and more. CHRP alumni include many of the world's leading tap dance performers, choreographers and directors - making their mark around the world and Chicago.

Drury Lane Theatre continues its 2017-2018 season with 42nd Street, with music by Harry Warren, lyrics by Al Dubin, book by Michael Stewart and Mark Bramble, and original Broadway direction and dances by Gower Champion. 42nd Street is based on the novel by Bradford Ropes and was originally produced on Broadway by David Merrick. This production is directed by Michael Heitzman with choreography by Jared Grimes. 42nd Street runs now through January 7, 2018 at Drury Lane Theatre, 100 Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace.
