Imagine walking into Jackson Hall on opening night, as I did, thinking, “Why did the directors reimagine this pleasant, if somewhat plodding, old-school musical with an ensemble of multi-ethnic women, trans and non-binary actors cast in the roles of America’s founding fathers?” Then leaving the theater after the final curtain wondering, “why on earth would anyone ever feel the need to cast the roles with men?” and reveling in the fact that 1776 tapped into my heart in unexpected ways, eliciting an emotional and, I daresay, patriotic response.

“Five Dollar Bible” tells the story of the simple wisdom found on the black and white pages of a gifted five-dollar Bible. In 2022 the singer signed to Bob Frank’s BFD / Audium Nashville and began work on his follow up album slated for release this fall. The single is distributed by BFD/Orchard, Chuck Rhodes as BFD’s GM in Nashville.

Produced and mixed by Tom Rees of fellow Cardiff band Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard, the new album features the two singles alongside new tracks including dizzying psych-rock romp “Come Of Age”, breezy ballad “You Play Me” (produced by Andrew Bishop) and climactic closer “Epilogue 6” (produced by Harry Franklin-Williams and CVC’s Elliot Bradfield).

Old Library Theatre (OLT), Fair Lawn Recreation Department's resident theatre company, will present RADIUM GIRLS, for three performances only, June 23rd through June 25th. Performances are on Friday and Saturday evening at 8:00pm, with a Sunday matinee at 2:00pm.
