Review: The Groovy Sounds of the 60's and 70's Resound at 54 Below

This reviewer was thrilled with Carole J. Bufford's groovy and fabulous trip back through the years! If only the walls could talk they would tell of all they heard on this cool evening of September 4, 2024 at the famed 54 Below. Bufford joyously took the audience on a trip down memory lane with her show, Come Together - When the 60’s Met the 70’s.

Previews: THINGS MY MOTHER TAUGHT ME at Kechi Playhouse

Kechi Playhouse continues its season this September with Things My Mother Taught Me by Katherine DiSavino. This play is a comedy that looks at generational differences and how we can learn from everyone. The story follows young couple Olivia and Gabe who are moving into their first apartment together. They’ve just packed up all of their belongings and driven halfway across the country to start a new life together in Chicago. Their moving day doesn’t go exactly as planned, though, and things become slightly more complicated when all of their parents show up to help!

Broadway's Pierre Marais Will Debut A Night Of Original Short Films

Broadway’s Pierre Marais (Sunset Boulevard, Aladdin) will debut a night of his original short narrative films; screening this September in Greenwich Village. Voted best Young Filmmaker at the Cannes World Film Festival for his film As Apple Pie, Marais’ films have garnered over 75 selections from film festivals across the globe.

Next up at the Getty Villa, Memnon conceived by Carl Cofield and Will Power opening September 5, 2024, (already in previews). Carl directs this oft overlooked epic tale from the Greek mythological canon written by Will with the cast of: Eric Berryman, Jesse J. Perez, Andrea Patterson, Daniel José Molina, Jesse Corbin, Holly Hwang Belshaw, Katherine (Kat) Files and Jenna Kulacz. Carl found time before opening night to answer a few of my queries.
