RIVERDALE Scribe Explores The Fruits Of The Poisonous Trees in GOOD BOYS.

Pasadena Playhouse, the State Theater of California, presents the Los Angeles premiere of Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa's Good Boys starring Betsy Brandt as Elizabeth Hardy, and directed by Carolyn Cantor on the mainstage of Pasadena Playhouse.

Pasadena Playhouse, the State Theater of California, is pleased to announce that casting is complete for the Los Angeles premiere of Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa's Good Boys starring Betsy Brandt (CBS' Life in Pieces, and AMC's Breaking Bad) as Elizabeth Hardy, and directed by Carolyn Cantor on the mainstage of Pasadena Playhouse. The production will play June 26 through Sunday July 21; the press opening is June 30 at 5:00pm. 

2Cents Theatre Group's 2019 Best of INK @Fringe production, Lear/Loman by Kate Schwartz, will play four more performances at the Broadwater Main Stage. Featuring Leon Russom as King Lear and Bruno Oliver as Willy Loman, the cast will also include (in alphabetical order) Lauran Dewey, Tim Kopacz, Heather Roberts, Sarah Schulte, and Ruben Uy. Under the direction of Scott Leggett, the remaining performances are Saturday 6/15 at 11:30am; Thursday 6/20 at 5pm; Saturday 6/22 at midnight; and Sunday 6/30 at 1:30pm. Running time is 60 minutes.

On Tuesday, June 18, at 8:30pm, singer and actor Garrett Clayton, star of Disney's Teen Beach Movie and Teen Beach 2 and Hairspray Live! on FOX is set to debut his new show It Takes Three with Ashley Argota and Desi Dennis-Dylan at Catalina Bar & Grill in Hollywood, it was announced today by Chris Isaacson Presents.

Judith Light, Gethin Anthony and Jay O. Sanders are set to star alongside Jack Huston, Cameron Britton and Carla Gugino in Season 2 of Spectrum Originals and Lionsgate's anthology series MANHUNT: LONE WOLF. Headshots are attached.

Television, film and theatre triple-threat Garrett Clayton will debut his headlining cabaret show IT TAKES THREE at the Catalina Jazz Club June 18, 2019. Teaming up with his BFFs - fellow triple threats themselves - Ashley Argota and Desi Dennis-Dylan, Garrett plans to entertain and wow you with their harmonic vocals, jazz hands and lots of heart. Garrett managed to spare a little time for me on the phone Tony Awards weekend.

Rubicon Theatre Company announces two performances of an intimate concert featuring Golden Globe Award-Winner and Grammy nominee Amanda McBroom, presented as part of the 2018-2019 Janet and Mark L. Goldenson Broadway Concert Series. Amanda McBroom, a Rubicon favorite both as a singer and actress, returns to Rubicon with a concert version of her hit play Lady Macbeth Sings the Blues on Saturday June 8 at 8p.m. and Sunday June 9 at 2 p.m.

Pasadena Playhouse, State Theatre of California,announces Playhouse Celebrity Game Night: Speed Charades, ahilarious competition where celebrity teams go head-to-head and battle it out in a fierce and fun game of speed charades benefiting the programs of the Pasadena Playhouse. Players for the Monday, June 10 fundraiser will include John C. Reilly, Jane Kaczmarek, Alfred Molina, Simon Helberg, Matthew Lillard, Melora Hardin, Jason George, Cynthia Rowley, and more. 

East West Players (EWP), the nation's longest-running professional theatre of color in the country and the largest producing organization of Asian American artistic work, is pleased to announce its 54th Season, We Are the Ones We Are Waiting For. Pasadena Playhouse Producing Artistic Director Danny Feldman announces four main stage productions for 2019/2020 including new productions of favorite musicals -  Little Shop of Horrors with book and lyrics by Howard Ashman and music by Alan Menken, directed by Mike Donahue, and Irving Berlin's Annie Get Your Gun with book by Herbert and Dorothy Fields, directed by Sarna Lapine - and  two plays - the Los Angeles premiere of Lauren Yee's The Great Leap directed by BD Wong, a co-production with East West Players, and Alfred Molina starring in the critically acclaimed West End and Broadway hit The Father by Florian Zeller and directed by Jessica Kubzansky. One more production and additional programming will be announced at a later date.

Pasadena Playhouse, the State Theater of California, is pleased to announce that casting is complete for Gather: Surprising Stories & Other Mischief.  Academy and Tony Award Nominee John C. Reilly and an amazing ensemble of actors will craft a spirited evening of Story Theater, which Reilly has created with Patrick Murphy, who will also direct. The production will play Friday, May 24 through Saturday, June 22, in the Carrie Hamilton Theatre of the Pasadena Playhouse.

Sultry heat and Tolstoy's "Anna Karenina" combine to spark rich fantasies and broken dreams, passion and adultery. Open Fist Theatre Company presents Anna In The Tropics, the powerful, poignant and poetic play that garnered the 2003 Pulitzer Prize for then unknown Cuban-American playwright Nilo Cruz. Jon Lawrence Rivera directs, with performances continuing through June 8 at Atwater Village Theatre.

Award-winning artists' collective Rogue Artists Ensemble is thrilled to announce the Inaugural Rogue Lab Readings Series, a four-day event that includes readings of seven new works written, directed, and designed by emerging LA artists, as well as post-show discussions and receptions. The reading series will feature new plays by 2018-2019 Rogue Lab playwrights Lisa Sanaye Dring, Eric Fagundes, John Guerra, Mildred Inez Lewis, Chelsea Sutton, and Jennie Webb, and a special new play presentation by writing team Taylor Coffman and Z. Lupetin.

Pasadena Playhouse - State Theatre of California is announcing entertainment and participants for the return of the Playhouse Block Party, in partnership with the Playhouse District Association, after last year's blockbuster inaugural event.  This all-day event, free to the public, is from 12-noon to 10:00pm on Saturday, June 8 on El Molino Ave. at Colorado Blvd.  There will be more than twenty -five performances on two different stages - a Main Stage and a Family Stage -- during the course of the day, in addition to activity booths hosted by some of Pasadena's most celebrated arts organizations, theatre tours, a silent disco, and more. 

Platinum selling recording artist and Tony Award nominated actor Sam Harris is set to bring his new show Stripped to The Purple Room in Palm Springs for two performances only on Friday, June 21 and Friday, June 28, at 8pm, it was announced today by Chris Isaacson Presents. Along with his longtime musical director Todd Schroeder, Harris will perform Broadway and pop songs from his stellar 30-year career. No band, no backup singers. Just two musical stars and a piano in the desert.

The Tony Awards Administration Committee has announced today that two time Tony Award (Other Desert Cities and The Assembled Parties) and two time Emmy Award-winning actress Judith Light will receive this year's Isabelle Stevenson Tony Award.

A love letter to those who shape our lives, hold us together and break our hearts. IAMA Theatre Company presents theworld premiere of Mama Metal, a joyfully irreverent black comedy by 2017 Humanitas Play LA award-winner Sigrid Gilmer that entwines issues of identity with pop culture icons to tell a truly unique mother-daughter story. Deena Selenow directs for a May 23 opening atAtwater Village Theatre, where performances will continue through June 23. Low-priced previews begin May 17.
