The Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs (MAC), this year celebrating its 25th Anniversary, presents some of its top up-and-coming talent in NEW FACE SHOWCASE, an evening of comedy and song on Wednesday, June 25th at 7pm at The Duplex.

Ethan Paulini will star in Counter Productions' 'tick, tick...BOOM!' and 'The Full Monty.'

The fourth year of the acclaimed series, 'Monday Nights, New Voices,' continued on June 16th at 7pm with guest host, Tory Ross.

Chicago's production of the international hit musical revue SHOUT! THE MOD MUSICAL has announced it will end its Chicago engagement on Sunday June 29, 2008.

I mean it with the most sincere amount of respect and admiration for both gentlemen when I write that Peter Gallagher seems to have morphed into Jerry Orbach.  At least in his portrayal of Bernie Dodd, the hard-driving Broadway director convinced that when the star of his new play suddenly leaves for a Hollywood gig he can get a great turn out of the washed-up alcoholic actor whose performances twIce Thrilled him many years ago.  He's the best part of Mike Nichols' new production of Clifford Odets' The Country Girl (which has undergone some text tweaking by Jon Robin Baitz).  His tough, but passionate mannerisms and gruff speaking voice bring out a sense of urgency to the proceedings as he convinces a skeptical producer (Chip Zien), a reluctant actor and his long-suffering wife that his high-stakes risk can pay off big.  By the end of the evening I was half expecting the man to send his star on stage with an exhilarated, 'Think of musical comedy!'

In her Duplex cabaret debut Elena Gronlund has taken the classic cabaret and added a sexy and fresh twist. Her own interpretation of Gershwin's classic 'I Got Rhythm' is a sure crowd pleaser as well as a new and sassy twist to Disney's classic 'So This Is Love' from Cinderella. In addition to the old favorites, Elena has added an obscure vaudeville song and modern day material from Mel Brooks' The Producers.

After a sold out run at the Duplex, Welcome to My Life, with music and lyrics of Bobby Cronin, moves to the Laurie Beechman Theatre. New songs plus fan favorites!

On Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at the Duplex Cabaret Theater, 61 Christopher Street at Seventh Ave. South in NYC at 9:30pm Dutch singer Sabina Petra makes her NYC cabaret debut, Home/Thuis, an exploration of the concept of being at home from a Dutch singer seeking her home in the U.S., accompanied by an American pianist seeking his home in France.

The fourth season of the acclaimed Monday Nights, New Voices series continues April 14th at the Duplex Cabaret Theatre. The series, produced by composer Scott Alan, showcases some of today's brightest 'New Voices' in New York.
