The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has today announced Netflix as the main supporting partner for their flagship new talent scheme 'Breakthrough Brits', which showcases and supports the next generation of creative talent across film, games and television.

Netflix has entered into a multi-year first look deal with director, producer, and award winning actress, Regina King.  King's production company Royal Ties is entering into the first-look deal to produce films and series for Netflix.  Her sister, Reina King, will serve as head of production of the shingle.

Priya Swaminathan and Tonia Davis, co-heads of Higher Ground Productions, President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama's production company in partnership with Netflix, today announced the company's initial slate of upcoming projects. The content encompasses a wide range of fiction and non-fiction signature productions for all audiences including scripted, unscripted and documentary series, as well as full-length features and documentaries.

During Rio Creative Conference's Primetime panel tonight, Netflix, the world's leading internet entertainment service, announced its first Brazilian zombie show, Reality Z. Based on the critically acclaimed British production Dead Set, created by Charlie Brooker (Black Mirror), the series was adapted by International Emmy award-winning Brazilian director, screenwriter and executive producer Cláudio Torres with Conspiração's production.

Variety reports that Netflix's television adaptation “Green Eggs and Ham” will premiere in the last quarter of 2019.

Today SiriusXM and Netflix announced the launch of Netflix Is A Joke Radio, a full-time comedy channel to air exclusively on SiriusXM ch. 93. This is the first time the streaming company has worked in unison with another major subscription media company to create a new outlet for their content. The channel, which will feature highlights from top Netflix talent including Adam Sandler, Aziz Ansari, Bill Burr, Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, Ellen DeGeneres, Gabriel Iglesias, Jerry Seinfeld, John Mulaney, Ken Jeong, Ricky Gervais, Sarah Silverman, Sebastian Maniscalco, Trevor Noah, Wanda Sykes, and more, launches on April 15, 2019 on SiriusXM.

Netflix today announced that it has entered into a multi-year overall deal with producer, director, and choreographer Kenny Ortega. Ortega is known for the High School Musical franchise, which earned him a Primetime Emmy and Directors Guild of America Award. Widely acclaimed for his genre-bending work in musicals, drama, comedy, and family programs, Ortega has directed and choreographed international hits including the Descendants trilogy, Newsies, and Hocus Pocus, and choreographed classic films including Dirty Dancing, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and Pretty in Pink, among others. Truman Alfaro will serve as Ortega's development executive.

Netflix has renewed After Life for a second season. The season two order includes six episodes.

Netflix has canceled the revival Norman Lear of One Day of a Time after three seasons on the streamer.

Making history yet again, THE SIMPSONS has been renewed for its 31st and 32nd seasons on FOX, by which time, the series will have produced 713 episodes.

 Netflix has entered into a multi-year first look deal with Academy Award nominated writer, producer, director Chris Columbus and his 1492 Pictures partners, Michael Barnathan and Mark Radcliffe. Under the deal, Netflix gets a first look at any feature film that Columbus and his partners want to produce.

All series and films produced through the deal will be Netflix productions, with Mark Gordon of Entertainment One (eOne) alongside Douglas Gresham and Vincent Sieber serving as executive producers for series and as producers for features. In total the Narnia books have sold more than 100 million copies and been translated in more than 47 languages worldwide. The deal marks the first time that rights to the entire seven books of the Narnia universe have been held by the same company.

On Wednesday, September 12, GOOD+ Foundation, a national nonprofit founded by Jessica Seinfeld that provides training and support to fathers and families living in poverty, hosted “An Evening of Comedy + Music” Benefit at Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall in New York City. The special evening, which raised nearly $2 million for the organization's work helping families build stability and create an upward trajectory for their children, celebrated the organization's accomplishments and its evolution to better engage fathers for the benefit of their children, families and communities.

'Springsteen on Broadway' will launch globally on Netflix on December 15, 2018, which is also the final night of Springsteen's completely sold out 236-show run at Jujamcyn's Walter Kerr Theatre on Broadway. 'Springsteen on Broadway' is a solo acoustic performance written and performed by Tony Award, Academy Award, and 20-time Grammy Award winner Bruce Springsteen. Based on his worldwide best-selling autobiography 'Born to Run,' 'Springsteen on Broadway' is a unique evening with Bruce, his guitar, a piano, and his very personal stories. In addition, it features a special appearance by Patti Scialfa. The evening has received rave reviews in top media here and abroad.
