Syracuse Stage concludes the 2021/2022 season with a new play on the mainstage, an original play about housing insecurity in America and partnerships with Everson Museum of Art and Syracuse's Juneteenth celebration.

Berkshire Theatre Group and Kate Maguire have announced casting for shows in BTG’s Early Summer 2022 Season. The full season will feature B.R.O.K.E.N code B.I.R.D switching, a world premiere play and recipient of an NEA Grants for Arts Projects Award and more.

Constance Macy, a veteran of numerous Indiana stages and theaters across the U.S., has been named the new artistic director of the Phoenix Theatre Cultural Centre. The new position is effective immediately for Macy, who has served as interim artistic director since January.

Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is pleased to share production photos of Windfall, the first show of the 2022 Mainstage Season. The new comedy by Scooter Pietsch, directed by Jason Alexander, will make its East Coast premiere this week on Tuesday, May 31, and runs through June 19.

Drury Lane Theatre announces the cast for its production of the empowering story of love and friendship, Steel Magnolias by Robert Harling, directed by Johanna McKenzie Miller. Due to demand, Steel Magnolias has been extended and now runs June 10 – August 7, 2022, at Drury Lane Theatre, 100 Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace. The press opening is scheduled for Thursday, June 16, 2022 at 8:00 p.m.

For one night only, an ensemble of Broadway performers will gather for an evening of songs and stories for Arts Ignite Richmond: A Broadway Spectacular on Saturday, July 9 at 7:30 PM at the Richmond Triangle Players’ Robert B. Moss Theatre. 

The Kennedy Center engagement of To Kill a Mockingbird, Academy Award® winner Aaron Sorkin’s new play, directed by Tony® winner Bartlett Sher and based on Harper Lee’s classic novel, will play the Kennedy Center’s Opera House, June 21–July 10, 2022. Syracuse Stage brings patrons and supporters together again at its Annual Gala on June 23 at Springside Farm in Pompey, New York. The outdoor event features local food trucks, a craft beer tasting, live music, open bar, lawn games, a Syracuse Stage gift and more. All proceeds from the gala support artistic, community engagement and educational programming at Syracuse Stage.

The Green Room 42 will present a special concert reading of the new musical, Fountain of You, on Monday May 23 at 9:30 PM. Fountain of You features book and lyrics by Tasha Gordon-Solmon and music by Faye Chiao, and stars Kate Rockwell (Mean Girls, Bring it On The Musical) and Maya Days (Rent, Aida).

On March 11th 2020 Mint Theater Company completed casting for their next production, the long delayed American premiere of Chains by Elizabeth Baker, scheduled to open that May.  

Theatre for Young Audiences USA has announced Sara Morgulis as the membership organization’s next Executive Director, starting June 6, 2022. The TYA/USA Board unanimously selected Morgulis to lead the national organization representing the creative community committed to the professional field of theatre for children, young adults, and families.
