PIRATES OF PENZANCE, ANNA KARENINA and More to Stream for International Theater Month

Broadway On Demand will present a new theatrical event, as part of its “International Theater Month” theme, including the documentary In the Company of Actors (January 9), Anna Karenina the Musical (January 16), the South Korean production of Xcalibur (January 23) and an all-male production Gilbert & Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance (January 30).

Sydney Theatre Company announces Shari Sebbens and Courtney Stewart will join our existing Resident Artists in 2021. Shari (Black is the New White, The Bleeding Tree) has been appointed Resident Director and Courtney (White Pearl, Hamlet: Prince of Skidmark) is the company's new Richard Wherrett Fellow - a career pathway opportunity for emerging directors. 

Riverside | National Theatre Of Parramatta Presents QUEEN FATIMA

From 7th – 16th January 2021, Riverside's National Theatre of Parramatta will present the world premiere of Queen Fatima by James Elazzi (Lady Tabouli) and directed by Paige Rattray (STC'S The Beauty Queen of Leenane, Belvoir's Fangirls). Queen Fatima will be presented at Riverside Theatres as part of the 2021 Sydney Festival.

New Tickets Released For STC's THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY

Sydney Theatre Company has released new tickets for STC Artistic Director Kip Williams' own adaptation of Oscar Wilde's devilishly wicked novel, The Picture of Dorian Gray which opened to critical acclaim and five star reviews over the weekend. The company has been granted an exemption by NSW Health to play to a 75% audience capacity for this season at Roslyn Packer Theatre and new seats have been released for sale today for all performances from Wednesday 2 December onwards.

Sam Worthington Joins The Cast Of STC's APPROPRIATE

Sam Worthington will join the cast of the Sydney Theatre Company production of Branden Jacobs-Jenkins dark comedy,  Appropriate, directed by Wesley Enoch at the Roslyn Packer Theatre in March 2021. Worthington will play Bo, joining Lucy Bell as his wife, Rachael, and Mandy McElhinney as Bo's sister Toni.

Sydney Theatre Company Announces ACT 1: The First Five Plays Of 2021

Sydney Theatre Company Artistic Director Kip Williams today unveiled Act 1, the first five plays of the 2021 season with the remaining two thirds of the season to be announced in March. To celebrate the company's return to its newly renovated home at The Wharf, Williams will direct a new adaptation by Kate Mulvany of Ruth Park's classic Sydney story, Playing Beatie Bow. The 2021 season will also feature the Australian premiere of Branden Jacobs-Jenkins' dark comedy, Appropriate directed by Wesley Enoch at Roslyn Packer Theatre and three plays rescheduled from the 2020 season: Home, I'm Darling, Fun Home and The Wharf Revue: Goodnight and Good Luck.

Sydney Theatre Company is inviting applications from Australia's talented playwrights for the 2020 Patrick White Playwrights Award and expressions of interest for the Patrick White Playwrights Fellowship. The prizes are designed to benefit both emerging and established writers and have a total prize pool of $32,500.
