While movie audiences eagerly await the movie musical version of The Producers, they can head to the St. James Theater and catch Gary Beach in the role that garnered him the 2001 Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a musical.
Performances of THE PAJAMA GAME will begin Friday, January 27th on Broadway at the American Airlines Theatre with the official opening set for Thursday, March 2nd. The limited engagement is scheduled to run 20 weeks through June 18th, 2006.
The Producers has just recouped its £5,500,000 capitalisation and the musical has now been seen by well over 550,000 people in London since it started performances on 25 October 2004.
Tony award winners Karen Ziemba and Donna McKechnie, Urinetown's Jeff McCarthy, City of Angels's Leslie Denniston, and Tony-nominated Lara Teeter will star in Barrington Stage Company's production of James Goldman's and Stephen Sondheim's masterpiece Follies. Broadway veteran Marni Nixon will also be featured. Artistic Director Julianne Boyd will direct and Lara Teeter will choreograph. Follies, presented in celebration of Sondheim's 75th birthday, will run from June 23 through July 16 at the Consolati Performing Arts Center, Sheffield, MA.
