Those who enjoy and appreciate the art of dance absolutely must plan to join the Central Indiana Dance Ensemble as their Mixed Repertoire performs an exciting blend of classical, contemporary, and modern dance.

On Thursday, July 16, 2020 at 7:30pm, Works & Process at the Guggenheim will present a virtual program featuring premieres of two new commissions related to composer Lisa Bielawa's ongoing project, Broadcast from Home, a significant new musical work launched by Bielawa in April 2020.

Works & Process, the performing arts series at the Guggenheim, believes in the transformative power of art. Tonight they will now highlight Cooped by Jamar Roberts, a Works & Process Artists #WPAVirtualCommission that premiered on May 24.

Miro Magloire's New Chamber Ballet will close its 2018-19 season with programs of ballets by Magloire, a world premiere by resident choreographer Constantine Baecher (Friday only), 'Full Circles' by guest choreographer Gabrielle Lamb, and the world premiere of a work by guest choreographer Richard Isaac. Two performances, Friday June 7 at 8 PM and Saturday June 8 at 7:30 PM in the Company's home base of City Center Studio 5, 130 West 56th Street.

Miro Magloire's New Chamber Ballet will continue its 2018-19 season with two world premieres: New Ballet I by guest choreographer Gabrielle Lamb to music by Missy Mazzoli, and New Ballet II by Magloire, to music by Schubert (titles later!).   Completing the program are Magloire's Feel Your Fall,  to music by composer Wolfgang Rihm, premiered at the September performances, and Two Friends to Debussy.  As always, Magloire's superb musicians are called upon to perform compositions that range from the impressionist Debussy to the contemporary sounds of Rihm.

The Works & Process series at the Guggenheim Museum on Fifth Avenue in NYC has been giving New Yorkers an up-close-and-personal chance to experience aspects of the creative process for over three decades. One recent installment, a fascinating retrospective entitled “Breaking Bread with Balanchine”, explored Mr. B's passionate involvement with cooking and how his relationship to food influenced his choreography. Food scholar Dr. Meryl Rosofsky researched the “culinary biography” during her resident fellowship at NYU's The Center for Ballet and the Arts.

Choreographer Joshua Beamish's MOVETHECOMPANY made their first appearance at Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) Wednesday night with the New York premiere of a full-length piece, Saudade.

BOBDIREX under the direction of Bob Harbin (JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, HAIR, SPAMALOT, CABARET, FORUM)  will follow last year's critically acclaimed premiere of BILLY ELLIOT the MUSICAL with another Indiana premiere "The Hunchback of Notre Dame."

The Works & Process Rotunda Projects Initiative Gala at the Guggenheim Museum raised more than $450,000 in commissioning funds for the Works & Process Rotunda Projects program. Dance Against Cancer raised more than $200,000 for the American Cancer Society on Monday, May 5, 2014. Proceeds from the evening will benefit research initiatives and patient and family service programs. More than 500 guests attended the fourth annual Dance Against Cancer. VIP guests enjoyed cocktails, preferred seating, and a gift bag in addition to the performance and post-event reception. The performance featured new work by Brian Reeder created for American Ballet Theatre's Isabella Boylston with New York City Ballet's Chase Finlay and Amar Ramasar, Paul Taylor Dance Company in its first appearance at the benefit, Charles 'Lil Buck' Riley performed with students from National Dance Institute, and included the NYC premiere of Justin Peck's Sea Change. The third annual Dance Against Cancer at the AXA Equitable Theater on Monday, May 6, 2013 raised more than $96,000 for the American Cancer Society. The evening began with cocktails at 6pm, a performance at 7pm, and a reception at 8:30pm.
