Fresh from a memorable, ambitious tour of Israel and Europe, the intrepid musicians of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO) jump back into action. The TSO's 95th season is coming to an end, but the month of June is bursting with highly anticipated events, such as the new, semi-staged production of Kurt Weill's The Seven Deadly Sins; William Walton's mighty Belshazzar's Feast; and Carl Orff's epic Carmina Burana-all part of this season's final instalment of The Decades Project, in partnership with the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO). Highlighting the 100th birthday of Ella Fitzgerald, the TSO pays tribute to one of the greatest singers of all time. And the Orchestra presents a nostalgic journey through memorable music from Canadian stage and screen.
Kennedy Center Announces DISTRICT OF COMEDY FESTIVAL

From July 20-22, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts presents its second annual District of Comedy Festival, bringing together acclaimed stars and rising acts for an all-laughs takeover of the nation's center for the performing arts. Headlined by a one-night-only NSO Pops concert with Jane Krakowski and Tituss Burgess, the festival, with Presenting Sponsor Capital One, features stand-up shows, music, theater, and performances for children and families in spaces across the Center. The District of Comedy Festival also coincides with a brand new edition of the Kennedy Center's popular collaboration with Chicago's The Second City, which will run for eight weeks in the Theater Lab.

Broadway Producer and three time Tony Award winner Jamie deRoy held her annual Jamie deRoy & friends Tony Award show last night and the Red Carpet was rolled out at Birdland for the star studded event. Jamie's fans and friends had their cell phone cameras at the ready as one by one Jamie introduced her award-winning cast which included, Chuck Cooper (The Life) Penny Fuller (Sunday in the Park with George, Cabaret), Mandy Gonzalez (Hamilton, In the Heights), Rupert Holmes (The Mystery of Edwin Drood) with special guest, Patti Cohenour (War Paint, The Mystery of Edwin Drood), Doreen Montalvo (On Your Feet, In the Heights) and Paulo Szot (South Pacific) with Billy Stritch.

Just last night, The New York Pops celebrated its 34th birthday with a grand gala evening honoring Karen van Bergen, the CEO of Omnicom Public Relations Group, and Tony Award winners Kelli O'Hara and Bartlett Sher, whose collaborations over the last decade have won universal acclaim and whose individual careers represent pinnacles of achievement in the world of theatre. The concert celebrated the multi-year partnership between the actress and stage director and will bring together artists from the stage and screen.

Carnegie Hall is home to some of the greatest 'serious' music created by mankind and when Maestro and Music Director Steven Reineke takes the stage with the 78 member New York Pops Orchestra it's also about great music, great entertainment, and great fun. The final concert of the season was titled 'You've Got a Friend: A Celebration of Singers and Songwriters and it featured guest artists Will Chase, Christopher Jackson, Jessie Mueller and Adrienne Warren.
