Photographs of America's most treasured composers are on the walls of the Friars Club. By some oversight David Friedman's is not. After an evening of David and friends performing his music he will take his rightful place among the music greats who have had their music echo through the hallowed rooms of the club.
The Friars Club's entertainment bench possesses an unbelievable amount of talent and they are called upon to perform at the club's unique in-house weekly dinner/shows. Luckily, performers who were not famous when they first joined the club are generous with sharing their talents at these events after they become super stars.
An Evening With… are three of the most powerful words in the entertainment world and they are so often posted and signify an event that can only happen at the Friars Club. In the early days of the club it was an evening with James Cagney, George M. Cohan and other show business greats. Then came evenings with Milton Berle, Frank Sinatra, and many other legends.
The Chairman of the Board couldn't make his 101st birthday party but it wasn't a surprise that Steve Tyrell, who's currently singing at Cafe Carlyle headed up the festivities at Patsy's Italian Restaurant (Frank Sinatra's favorite haunt). It was a great afternoon as everyone dined on some of Mr.Sinatra's preferred dishes and heard Steve Tyrell interview many show business legends talk about their relationship with 'The Voice'. There were many famous telephone call in's to Steve's SIRIUS Radio live broadcast.

Bristol Riverside Theatre pays homage to the greatest singer of all with Steven Maglio's Sounds of Sinatra on February 18-21. Performances are Thursday, February 18 at 2:00 PM and 7:30 PM; Friday, February 19 at 8:00 PM; Saturday, February 20 at 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM; and Sunday, February 21 at 3:00 PM. Tickets start at $32, with discounts for students, groups and military personnel. Tickets are available by visiting brtstage.org or calling the box office at 215-785-0100. Mr. Maglio will entertain during the closing hour on Sunday, between 9pm-10pm, with three upbeat swinging tunes. Two Bossa Nova style songs, Lady is A Tramp and My Way, from his newly released CD Sinatra en Bossa Nova, as well as a standard version of the song, New York, New York.

The show started off with a bang as Steven Maglio was "requested" by Dominic Chianese to introduce the evening. Dominic Chianese, the multi talented actor who is best known for his role as "Junior" in The Sopranos, can also sing (not as in FBI). There were a lot of "family" present for this yearly event at the Friars Club. Good food and good entertainment by fellow Friars were the specials of the day as General Manager Michael Caputo and Food & Beverage Director Giuseppe Tarillo expertly guided the evening. Even Chazz Palminteri (A Bronx Tale) luckily gave a thumbs up!
