The Alumni of the Wagner College Theatre Department kicked off a year-long celebration of their department's 50th Anniversary with a variety show at The Green Room 42 at Yotel last night and Broadwayworld was there for the extraordinary Alummni Cabaret Show.
The 92Y had a swinging start to it's Lyrics & Lyricists Series this weekend with a blockbuster show celebrating the life and music of Bobby Darin. Ted Chapin with his first undertaking as L&L producer created a fascinating and entertaining production which had many in the 92Y audience commenting 'move it to Broadway.' In fact the 5 day event had many Broadway producers in attendance as the buzz about the show travelled from 92nd street to 42 street.
Steven Maglio is having a great time and so are his audiences. The most common compliment paid to Maglio according to his web-site is, If Frank Sinatra heard the way you sing his songs he'd be proud. Steve goes on to state that he hopes that's true 'cause I'm having a great time.'
The stirring original song co-written by Anthony Nunziata is titled The Gift Is You , however the real Gift to anyone who gets turned on by a world class entertainment experience are Will & Anthony. Their cabaret act at The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach had the kind of thrilling effect on the packed Royal Room audience that brought back memories of what it was like when the great acts in the golden age of nightclubs charged onto the stage of The Copacabana or Persian Room in New York City.

THE GREEN ROOM 42 Broadway's newest intimate concert venue has announced the return of Tony Award winner Frances Ruffellewith the continuation of the monthly residency of her solo theater piece Frances Ruffelle LIVEs in New York on Thursday, February 1. An acclaimed sold-out hit since its first appearance in the fall of 2017, the show is co-created by Frances Ruffelle and Gwyneth Herbert, with Musical arrangements by Gwyneth Herbert with additional arrangements by Jude Obermuller and David Barber.

There are two venues in the world that offer a combination of old world ambience and great entertainment. In Manhattan it's Cafe Carlyle in The Carlyle and in Palm Beach Florida the historic Colony Hotel's Royal Room shares the distinction. Broadway and TV star Mario Cantone brought a little shock and awe to the historic resort town which was established by Henry Morrison Flagler in the early 1900's.

As Michael Feinstein say at the start of his show, (with the emphasis on CH) it's the CHOLIDAY season.
